Recruiting News - Olympic Sports

A couple weeks ago, lacrosse announced its 11 person 2018/19 year class (https://cubuffs.com/news/2018/9/18/...11-newcomers-to-2018-19-roster.aspx?path=wlax). 1 of the 11 had not been known to this thread before, so wanted to acknowledge her now. She is 5'8" midfielder Bridget Cain, whose hometown is San Clemente California, her high school was San Juan Hills in San Juan Capistrano, and she played her last year of club ball for West Coast Stars.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Although lacrosse hasn't released their full 2019 roster yet in cubuffs, her individual bio is available at https://cubuffs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=12343 .

Haven't seen it from a 2nd source yet, so I'd call it an unconfirmed commit at this point, but per the below tweet, looks like Buff soccer has received a new class of 2020 verbal commit from a top Colorado forward, Haley Harnisch, who plays club ball with the Real Colorado Development Academy (DA) Club. (She also played at Valor Christian HS her freshman year, but doesn't appear in last season's roster, assume due to the time and schedule requirements of her club team.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Some things I could find on her-

Club team stats and info -
last season (2017/18)
(With 13 goals and 2 assists (='s 28 points, over 32 matches she played in), looks like she tied for her team's point lead for the season. Her team went on to win the "Inaugural Girls' Development Academy U-16/17 Championship" (per http://www.ussoccerda.com/20180711-...r-development-academy-u-16-17-girls-champions) against teams from across the country.)
Current season (2018/19) - http://rlco.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=7413516
(As I write this, she hasn't scored yet, but the season is only 4 matches in.)
Her individual club page (Summarizes all - http://rlco.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=3935980&player=284837748

Maxpreps stats for her (so far) one (2017) high school season. - http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/hal...gendersport/girls-soccer-stats.htm#year=16-17
(She scored 6 goals and added an assist at Valor Christian, earning the most points on her team for a freshman. As noted above, I assume she concentrated on her DA club her sophomore year, as she wasn't on Valor's (or any other HS team I could find) roster in 2018 on Maxpreps.)

Her HUDL highlights page - http://www.hudl.com/profile/9164244/Haley-Harnisch

Her scoring what turned out to be the winning goal in what I believe was her club team's quarterfinal playoff match against Dallas this past June.

A little more confirmation on lacrosse's commitment from 2020 Sydney Zimmerman. (See post #420 for more detail on her.)

And a short summary here - https://www.backofthecage.com/ubbth...id-sydney-zimmerman-commits-to-universit.html

(With my past main source for confirmation of lacrosse commits, laxpower.com, having stopped operations, it may be hard to get confirmation on some lacrosse commits until signing day, so glad I could at least find the above re. Ms. Zimmerman.)

Was a little worried we wouldn't know of ANY 2019 track and field commits (The largest roster sport at CU outside football) before the signing period begins next month, but finally have found our 1st one. Per the below tweet, looks like the women's team has picked up a commitment from multi-event, long jump and hurdler athlete Avery McMullen, who currently attends Centennial HS in Franklin, Tennessee, and also competes for the Middle TN Athletics Club.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her results
(As always, athletic.net requires a free subscription to see all results, but you can usually see the latest year's results if you don't want to sign up.) -
High School - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=10023742#!/L0
(She was Tennessee's D-1 (large school) champion last season as a junior in both the outdoor pentathlon and long jump, while also earning points for her team with a 4th place finish in the 100M hurdles. Per https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Division/Event.aspx?DivID=89402&Event=125, her 3353 outdoor pentathlon points was #7 in the country.)
Club - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=13723111#!/L0
(Concentrating in the multi-events in club, finished 16th in the heptathlon this past summer at I believe one of the premiere meets for juniors, the New Balance National Outdoors, with a personal best 4265 points, and finished 3rd in that event at the AAU Club Nationals.)

Per the below tweet, looks like soccer has a late pickup for 2019 in goalie Emma Miller, who plays for North Valley (NV) Demarest HS in Demarest, New Jersey and Manhattan SC (Soccer Club).

Welcome and congrats to her!

Goalie Emma Miller of NV/Demarest has committed to the University of Colorado Boulder. Miller is a four-year starter who this season has helped the Norsewomen (10-2-1) post eight shutouts and reached the Bergen semifinals for the first time in program history. She de-committed from the University of Miami following a change to its coaching staff.

"I knew that as soon as I stepped on campus I felt that I belonged," said Miller, 17, who plans to major in communications. "I love the coaching staff, I love the girls, and I think that I made a great decision to spend my four years playing soccer."

"They have a great program and I'm very excited to be able to contribute to their success," Miller added. "They are equally well known for getting their goalkeepers to the next level and I'm looking forward to enhancing my skills and technique."

This seems like a great, opportunistic recruiting win.

that goalie commit was needed with only 1 on the roster due to that girl from creek being injured.

Note- with Ms. Miller's commitment, and Buff soccer already having a prior goalie verbal commit for 2019, Megan Short (1st found as a commit in Aug. 2017, see posts 320, 326-327), I wanted to see if I could see anything that indicated whether Ms. Short was still committed to the Buffs of not. I thought she very well could be since, as @Bmixer noted, we only have one non-senior goalie (star J.J. Tompkins) on the roster right now. However, I just found a club roster page that looks pretty current with Ms. Short listed on it (http://www.scblues.com/Default.aspx?tabid=280472), and it's showing her as a Brown commitment.

She's still listed as a Colorado commit on topdrawersoccer (https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-player-profile/megan-short/pid-117413/tab-college-choices), so I may not take her off the commit list in the original post quite yet, but I'd say it's looking possibly doubtful she's coming to Boulder (which makes Ms. Miller's commitment possibly even more valuable).

Noticed through one of my (remaining) sources for lacrosse commits (https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recr...grad_year=all&position=all&hometown_state=ALL), and then got some confirmation via the below tweet (from early September), that a previously undisclosed (in this thread) commit for 2020 has shown up, 5'5" attacker/ midfielder Madeline Pisani. She currently attends Hinsdale Central High School, Hinsdale, Illinois, and assume based on the below tweet also plays for the Summit Lacrosse club. (That club, which appears to be in Denver and Chicago, is also the club of the last-found lax commit, Sydney Zimmerman (see post #420).)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Per one of my (not usually very comprehensive) sources for track and field commits (http://www.milesplit.com/signings?year=2019&sortBy=&collegeSearch=university+of+colo) , the Buff women’s track and field team has picked up a 2019 commitment from 5’10” sprinter/ hurdler Abbey*** Glynn, who is in her senior season/ year at Mead High School in Longmont, and also runs in the summer for the CDm Elite Club.
(***Sorry in advance if I spelled her 1st name wrong. 3 different sources I linked to in this post have it spelled 3 different ways. I’m thinking it's most likely to be "Abbey" since that is how Bocopreps spelled it in the articles linked to below, and I assume/ hope they were most likely to have “fact checked” the name and gotten it right (and I think I maybe (???) found her Twitter account with that spelling). Athletic.net has Abbie, while Milesplit has Abby.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

A few things I found regarding her:

Her high school results in Athletic.net - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Division/Event.aspx?DivID=89786&Gender=F&Event=21
(Individually, she came in 2nd last (her junior) season at the 2018 4A Colorado State Championships in both the 400M dash and the 300M hurdles. She also earned points her sophomore season in 4A with 5th and 6th place finishes in those races, and also as a freshman, where she finished 7th and 5th, respectively.)

Her club team (summer) results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=13842137#!/L0

An article which starts with a section describing her Championships last season, including some quotes season - http://www.bocopreps.com/spring-spo...k-and-field-meads-abbey-glynn-finishes-strong
(Per that article, in addition to those contributions she made to her team in individual events I summarized above – “Glynn also helped the Mavericks win the 800-meter sprint medley on Friday and led them to a fifth-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay on Saturday.” )

Another Bocopreps article about her heading to a national event this past summer - http://www.bocopreps.com/spring-spo...carlson-headed-hershey-national-championships
(In addition to track, sounds like she must have a VERY busy schedule at Mead HS, as she’s also on both the volleyball and basketball teams. From doing some Google searching and Maxpreps review, looks like she’s a significant contributor on both those squads, having averaged ~7 points and 8 rebounds a game last season in basketball per Maxpreps, while a recent article I found (http://www.bocopreps.com/fall-sport...ll-mead-gets-past-rival-frederick-huge-attack) had her contributing 11 kills and 8 blocks in a recent volleyball match (as a middle blocker).)

Per the below tweet and linked-to article, looks like women's track and cross country (XC) has picked up a 2019 commit from one of the top HS distance runners in the country, Emily Covert, who currently attends and runs for Washburn HS in Minneapolis, MN.

Welcome and congrats to her!

A few things I found regarding her:
In Dyestats latest rankings (http://dyestatxcrankings.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=46052&do=news&news_id=544266 , dated 10/16/18), they have her the #5 girl's cross country runner in the country. (Don't know how much it will effect a National ranking, but this #5 ranking is from before she (Edit) broke 17 minutes the 2nd time to win her sectional state race (by over a minute) this past Wednesday. She also is the defending state champion, and I'm sure will be looking to repeat when this year's race is run November 3rd.)

Edit- In Milesplit's/ Flotrack's national rankings dated 10/23 (https://www.milesplit.com/rankings/flo50/1049-ms50-xc-ind-girls-rankings-2018/3274-week-4-oct-23), she's ranked #4 in the country.

A Milesplit article on her committing to the Buffs - https://www.milesplit.com/articles/250687/emily-covert-makes-pledge-to-colorado

Short article on her winning her 2nd straight XC championship - http://m.startribune.com/breaking-b...-a-girls-cross-country-record-mark/498530751/
(Per this, she became the 1st Minnesota girl to ever break 17 minutes in the 5K in cross country at the state championships.)

Her Cross Country results - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=4974219#!/L0
(In addition to what she did at the state level, she also last season had a VERY busy national championship schedule after state was over. I believe most runners try to qualify for and race at EITHER the Nike (NXN) Champioships in Oregon OR the Footlocker Championships in San Diego, but Ms. Covert qualified for and ran in both, finishing 77th at NXN and 9th at Footlocker (After finishing 2nd and 3rd at their regional qualifying races). This season, she already earlier in the season won a prestigious National invitational, the top (Gold) race at the Roy Griak Invitational.)

Her track results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=4974219#!/L0
(As might be expected, she's been pretty dominant at the state level, winning the 3200M and coming in 2nd in the 1600M last season as a junior, and coming in 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in those races as a sophomore. At the national level, after last season she participated in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor, finishing 2nd there in the 2 mile and 10th in the mile.)

Just wanted to mention I had to go in and edit some on my post above about Ms. Covert. When discussing her cross country results, I mistakenly said she'd already won the Minnesota State Championships this year, when they aren't being held until November 3rd. (It was her sectional race that she impressively won in under 17 minutes (by over a minute) last Wednesday.)

With the start to the signing period around 2 weeks away, just found my 1st 2019 MEN's track and field (and cross country) commit- it is Hunter Appleton, a distance runner currently attending and running for Brother Martin HS (The Crusaders) in New Orleans LA.

Welcome and congrats to him!

Cross country results - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=8938155#!/L0
(He finished 2nd and 3rd in the 5A (largest school division) at the last 2 Louisiana State Championships as a sophomore and junior, and is off to a strong start this season, with his last listed race featuring a win while setting his cross country PR for 3 miles by almost 5 seconds.)

Track results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8938155#!/L0
(Was the 5A state champion in both the Indoor and Outdoor 3200M distance last (his junior) season. (Wouldn't have thought Louisiana would have an indoor championship- live and learn.) Also won that distance indoors and finished 2nd outdoors as a sophomore. Has also been a big points contributor to his team at the 1600M, highlighted by a 2nd place finish there in last season's state championships.)

Article that includes a quote or two from Mr. Appleton after he won a recent race (the one I noted above where he set his 3 mile XC PR) - http://www.sugarbowltrackclassic.com/

Interview with the young man after he won the FSU Relays' 3200M this March. (Per an article I found (https://www.louisianarunning.com/2018/04/15/5a-favorites-pre-district/), his 9:07 PR set there is 3rd all-time for a Louisiana prep runner.) - https://fl.milesplit.com/videos/267610/hunter-appleton-boys-3200m

A couple more commits have come up. 1st, per the below tweet and accompanying article, lacrosse has picked up a 2020 commit in attacker Mack Moore (solid sports name!), who currently attends and plays for Upper Dublin HS in Fort Washington (suburb of Philly), Pennsylvania. She also plays club ball at Ultimate lacrosse.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Upper Dublin 2020 attack Mack Moore has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mack Moore profile:

Mack Moore
High school: Upper Dublin High School (PA)
Grad year: 2020
Position: Attack
College committed to: University of Colorado Boulder
Club team: Ultimate lacrosse
...

Why did you choose Colorado? “I chose CU because right when I stepped on campus I felt at home and there was nothing not to like about it. The campus is beautiful and the city of Boulder is one of a kind. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play for an amazing coaching staff and for such a great lacrosse program. CU offers many academic opportunities and being a big school, was ultimately the right fit for me. I’m so excited to compete in the PAC 12 and can’t wait to be a Buff!”

HS team’s 2018 highlights: “This season we learned to play as a team and to depend on one another. Coach Cross taught us to play with our heart and how to mentally push through the tough games. We had some bad games and some amazing games, but we had a lot of fun as a team I’ll really miss our seniors next season. I’m excited to see what our future holds in 2019 and can’t wait for this spring.”

Thank You: “Thank you to both my parents for always being there for me no matter what throughout this entire journey. Whether it’s keeping me positive after a bad game or celebrating a big win, my parents have always been there and I have no doubt they’ll be flying across the country to watch me play. Thanks for driving me up and down the East Coast for camps and tournaments, for all the time you put in to support my love for lacrosse, and helping me become the player and person I am today. Thank you to my older brother Sam for supporting me in everything I do and for being a great role model and my best friend. Thanks to Michele DeJuliis for giving me the opportunity to play for Ultimate lacrosse and for being a great coach and guiding me through this entire process. Thanks to coach Jen Duckenfield for all the time you’ve spent helping me to become the player I am – I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for all your coaching these past 6 years. Thanks to coach Dee Cross for being my biggest supporter, for all your advice, and for making high school lacrosse a fun and competitive environment. Thank you to coaches Elliott, Frank, and Fenton for the amazing opportunity to play lacrosse at CU and to compete in the PAC 12!”

Couldn't find much more about her-
Scoring stats from the 2017 season showed her already a solid contributor as a freshman for Upper Dublin - http://www.suburbanonesports.com/article/content/2017-sol-girls-lacrosse-scoring-stats-0071034
(3rd on her team in points with 25 goals and 23 assists)

I couldn't find a similar stats table to the above for 2018, but per http://www.suburbanonesports.com/article/content/sol-girls-lacrosse-district-preview-5-15-18-0078322 , going into district playoffs, "Sophomore Mack Moore (43g, 37a) led the Cardinals with 80 points".

The 2nd commit found today has women's track and field and cross country, per the below tweet, receiving a 2019 commit from local distance/ middle distance runner Anna Shults, who currently attends and competes for Peak to Peak HS in Lafayette CO.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her track results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8807076#!/L0
(She came in 3rd last season as a junior at the 3A Colorado State Championships in both the 800M and 1600M after winning the 1600M and 3200M as a sophomore, while also being part of her team's winning 4X800M relay and 6th place finishing 4X400M relay team that year. She also won the 1600M and was 2nd in the 3200M her freshman year individually while also being part of her team's winning 4X800M relay team.)

Her cross country results - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=8807076#!/L0
(She ended up her state XC career with 4 straight 2nd place finishes in the 3A State Championships. Last season she also had a great run at the Nike (NXR) Southwest Regional, finishing 4th there. (This season's race is scheduled for November 17th in Casa Grande, AZ.)

Per https://trailrunner.com/trail-news/...mountain-running-international-youth-cup-u18/ , she earned what was I'd assume was a cool opportunity to travel and represent the U.S.A. at the "INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN RUNNING YOUTH CHALLENGE CUP" this past summer. Per http://www.wmra.ch/files/results/youth_challenge/Youth_13-2018_-_Results.pdf , she ended up the 2nd finisher for Team U.S.A. and finished 7th overall at the race in Lanzada Italy.

My only source** (other than generic social media searches) for tennis commits is showing the 1st 2019 commitment (still verbal of course at this point) I could find for that team- she is Ellen (Ellie on Youtube account) Puzak , who they show currently attending Minneapolis Southwest H.S. in Minnesota.
(**Found via a Pac 12 filtered search at https://www.tennisrecruiting.net/list.asp?id=2199&order=conf&extra=C124 .)

Welcome and congrats to her!

A few other things I found for her-

With the NLI (National Letter of Intent) signing period beginning today, assume we'll hear of a few more athletes, especially in the individual sports, who are committing to becoming Buffaloes.

Before I've heard of their signing, my main (non-social media) source for 2019 track and field/ cross country commitments (milesplit.com) has just listed a couple more young women who will be Buffaloes- Alisa Meraz-Fishbein, a distance runner currently attending Albuquerque HS in New Mexico, and Rylee Robinson, who is at Waterford Mott HS in Waterford, Michigan.

Welcome and congrats to both!

Ms. Meraz-Fishbein's results-
Track and field
- https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=11128378#!/L0 and https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=7979937#!/L0
(She won the New Mexico State Championship (6A division) 800M as a sophomore, and last season as a junior took 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the 1600M and 3200M. Also looks like she won the NM 3A 400M championship at a prior school as an 8th grader. (Looks to have an intriguing range.))

Cross country - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=11128378#!/L0
(Finished 4th in the 6A State Championships this season after a 3rd place finish as a junior.)

Ms. Robinson's results-
Track and field
- https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8672463#!/L0
(She finished 6th at the Michigan Division 1 (Lower Peninsula) State Championships last season as a junior, and also finished 5th at that distance as a sophomore.)

Cross country - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=8672463#!/L0
(She finished 9th, 3rd and 14th her last 3 seasons in the Michigan Division 1 (Lower Peninsula) State Championships. Also has finished 13th and 11th the last 2 years at the NXR (Nike Cross Regional) Midwest races.)

A little more confirmation (and/ or maybe the source for milesplit's listing her as a future Buff?) on Rylee Robinson's commitment.

As the 1st signing day for the 2019 freshman class has ended, wanted to update this thread with info on a couple previously unknown about future Buffs who signed their NLI's today. Their signing was noted earlier today in the thread I set up about 2019 class signing news (https://www.allbuffs.com/threads/20...riod-11-14-2018-8-1-2019.135838/#post-2548896).

The new known commits are:
  • For soccer, Forward Tessa Barton will be joining the Buffs. She attends Columbine HS in Littleton, and plays club ball with Colorado Rush.
  • For women's golf, the 1st (now known about) commit for 2019 is England's Sophie Johnson. Per the below tweet, she attends/ attended Hartpury College, which is in Hartpury House, Gloucester.
Welcome and congrats to Ms's. Barton and Johnson!

A few things I could find re Ms. Barton. (Note- Ms. Barton is the sister of current Buff Tatum; just from the pic in the above tweet, they seem to look rather similar, so fans will want to learn both their numbers the next couple years they will be teammates to know who's who!) -

Her Topdrawer.com soccer profile page - https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-player-profile/tessa-barton/pid-126302/tab-college-choices
(As I write this (I'm sure it will be updated over the next day or two), they show her as a Mississippi State commit. They have her as a 2 star commit***. )

A profile page from her elite (ECNL) club team - http://rush.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=3934020&player=278068169

Hopefully her Maxpreps stats page for high school - http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/tes...8KA2nzwbTA/gendersport/girls-soccer-stats.htm (Maxpreps is down as I write this, so this link is from Google search and not confirmed.)

Per https://chsaanow.com/2018-06-12/all-state-girls-soccer-teams-2018/ , she was 1st Team All-State her junior (2018) season.

(*** Obviously nothing specifically to do with Ms. Barton, but wanted to mention that I definitely don't "place much stock" in the topdrawer soccer star rankings, especially when it comes to the lower "2 star" players. I believe there have been five 2 star players combined in the last 2 (2017 and 2018) Buff classes. One did leave the team, but the other 4 include- from 2017, (1) defensive stalwart Hana Cardenas played almost EVERY minute of every match in 2017 (and was greatly missed after getting hurt early this season) and (2) Marty Puketapu was named to the All-Pac 12 freshman team in 2017 after being the Buff's co-leading goal scorer (8 goals). From 2018, all the freshmen made great contributions, including "2 star'ers" (3) Jesse Loren, who started EVERY match this season and was second on the team in total minutes played and (4) Chaynee Kingsbury, who earned a lot of playing time off the bench for a freshman in a tough conference, and always looked very dangerous with her speed, ball handling, service and flip throws.)

Re Ms. Johnson-

The cubuffs.com release - https://cubuffs.com/news/2018/11/14...hie-johnson-to-national-letter-of-intent.aspx

"
The University of Colorado women's golf coach Anne Kelly has announced the signing of Sophie Johnson, a native of Telford, Shropshire, England, to a National Letter of Intent.

"We are thrilled to have Sophie Johnson join our team next season," Kelly said. "I was able to watch her in the British Girls Junior this summer was impressed with her golf swing and game, but also how she managed and conducted herself on the course. I believe she is the type of student-athlete that will excel here at CU."

A very accomplished golfer, Johnson has won several tournaments in her young career. She was the Shropshire U18 Champion in 2016 and '18, the 2018 Shropshire Ladies County Champion and the 2016 Midland North U18 Champion. In December of 2017, she placed first at the Junior European Open at the Alcadeisa Golf and Country Club. She was a member of the England National U18 Team (2016, '17) and was a member of the English Schools International Team (2017, '18). Johnson was also undefeated at County Match Week in 2016, '17 and '18.

A couple more new commitments that weren't known (at least to this thread) until the signing period started.

1st, soccer confirmed on twitter the signing of 2019 class midfielder Jade Babcock-Chi, who currently attends and plays (***or maybe played?) for Torrey Pines HS in San Diego, and plays club ball for San Diego Surf.

Welcome and congrats to her!

A little more info on her -
topdrawersoccer.com profile - https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-player-profile/jade-babcock-chi/pid-97987
(They have her rated a 3 star recruit.)

U.S. Soccer Development Academy player page - http://surf.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=3947120&player=488885477
(Started 25 of 27 matches she played in on the U16/U17 team during the 2017/18 season for what i assume is SD Surf's elite team, and has started 6 of 6 played so far in the 2018/19 season for the U18/U19 team. "Only" scored 3 goals last season, so would GUESS she plays further back in the midfield (assuming she doesn't play (or has played) in the back row for them). Per the team's roster page (http://surf.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=7466856), looks like she plays with 2020 Buff verbal commit Shyra James.)

Maxpreps stats page (For Torrey Pines HS time) - http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jad...8KA2nzwbTA/gendersport/girls-soccer-stats.htm
(***No stats for last season; only for her freshman and sophomore years. Assume like some others, maybe club requirements don't allow her the time to play high school ball???)

A track and field results page for her - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8643020#!/L0
(she also has an impressive track and field resume, having made the CIF San Diego Section finals both as a sprinter (400M) and long jumper last season as a junior, and also anchored her team's 4X400M relay team that qualified for and ran at the VERY competitive California State Championships. (We've had some CA track and field commits who never qualified for the CA state championships.)
Be interesting to see if she also chooses (of course in consultation with the coaches) to try and compete on the Buff track & field team, or feels the soccer requirements during the spring training period (and/ or just school demands) are too extensive.
If nothing else, this indicates she could definitely bring some nice speed onto the pitch.)

And, speaking of track and field, the 2nd 2019 commit (who based on the below tweet may have also signed her NLI???) we didn't know about until now is in women's track and field. She is Jada Green, who based on her results I assume will be joining the strong multi-event (heptathlon, indoor pentathlon) group of the Buffs. Ms. Green currently attends Hillside HS in Durham, North Carolina, and per her results linked to below also competes for the Durham Striders Track Club. (I believe very few states offer multi-event championships as part of their state championships, so assume clubs are almost a necessity if you want to be a serious competitor.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her track and field results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3467717#!/L0
(Can't say I know much of ANYTHING about junior multi-event competitions, but just based on the name, I'd GUESS the highlight is a VERY impressive 8th place showing at the New Balance Nationals Outdoors held this June, where she also set her current PR (4,526 points).)

Per the below tweet, women's track and field probably has another 2019 commit in thrower Lauren Whyrick, who is currently at Greeley West HS.

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her field results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=11517034#!/L0
(Best results include a 5th place at the 2018 Colorado 5A State Championships in the shot put last season as a junior.)

For the 3rd day in a row, found a new 2019 women's track and field team commit- this time it's sprinter (looks like the 400M is her current strongest event) Christal Johnson, who attends and competes for Puyallup HS, Puyallup (suburb of Tacoma?) Washington. From her results, she also runs and trains with the Xtreme Speed Club. (From the below Instagram, I'll list her as an official signed commit.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her track results (both for club and high school) - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=9383264#!/L0
(As noted above, the 400M seems to currently be her strongest event, as she won that event at last season's Washington 4A (largest school) division state championships as a junior after being the runner-up as a sophomore. She then went on and earned her 400M PR (55.00) to finish 6th at the (nationally) prestigious Brooks PR Invitational. (That time would have been the 4th fastest time ran outdoors by a Buff last season.) In addition to the 400M at last year's state championships, she also contributed some points for her team at shorter distances, finishing 8th in the 100M and 7th in the 200M, and also anchored the 4X400M relay team to a 6th place finish. With her club team, she's had VERY strong results also, highlighted by a 5th place finish this past summer's at the 2018 "USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Championships" (17/18 age group).)

Wanted to mention Buff assistant coach Lindsey Malone made some social media posts a few days ago regarding 3 of the incoming track and field Buffs (all already known about in this thread), so assume they must have officially signed their NLI's (or equivalent) and been accepted.

OFFICIAL welcome and congrats to multi-event athletes Jada Green and Avery McMullen and thrower Elena Opp!

A few hours ago track and field posted 11 tweets in short order introducing, I'm assuming, its 2019 women team commits to date, 10 of whom were already known to this thread. The one not known about previously is Kyla Christopher-Moody, a middle distance/ distance runner who currently is at West Bloomfield HS, West Bloomfield, Michigan. (She becomes the 2nd female running Buff from West Bloomfield in this class, although the other (Rylee Robinson) attends another HS.)

Welcome and congrats to her!

Her track and field results - https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8645317#!/L0
(Her best results at the State Championships have been in the 1600M, where she has finished 3rd, 8th and 9th over the last 3 seasons. With her results in cross country (see below), kind of surprised she hasn't competed more often in the 3200M.)

Cross country - https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=8645317#!/L0
(She's been a top producer the last 3 years for her team, finishing 4th, 7th and 2nd at the Division 1 Michigan (Lower Peninsula) State Championships. As a sophomore, also qualified for the big Foot Locker National Championships, where she finished 23rd.)
