2018-2019 Coaching Carousel..

His contract only says that he has to make a good faith effort to find gainful employment. I see your point that CU’s lawyers could have a case for breach based in good faith in terms of college coaching. Really, if macintyre wants to screw Colorado, he should take a TV gig.

This is why most of the time the contracts to do TV work have a clause that allows the coach to leave immediately for a job as a head coach or for an NFL job.

We really need an announcement - this is really dragging on at this point. We need to get going on the 2nd phase of a new coach being hired, excitement and enthusiasm. The longer we keep waiting? the more interest is being lost, especially those non diehard fans not on AllBuffs.

The Day 3 Vigil of the arrival of Coach Tucker Update:

Did Green Bay fire McCarthy now because they have their eye on a college coach and didn't want to wait until January, where the window for hiring college coaches may be closed? I don't see McCarthy in college, but Matt Campbell maybe?

There're rumours about Jim Harbaugh, but I think that's complete nonsense.

If Matt Campbell wants an NFL job and the Packers offer, he would be insane not to accept it. Best job opening in sports right now.

Hey, if you fired your HC because of his relationship with AR then it makes a certain sort of sense.

Rodgers just signed an extension so it's not like they need to recruit him by hiring a friend of his. The relationship between the 2 had just gotten stale plus people seem to believe the injuries have taken some toll on him. Rodgers will be fine if they a competent coach.

Some are saying Josh McDaniels. I don't know if I could live with that as a secondary Packers fan.

Edit: sorry for NFL talk in this thread.

I'm spitballing, but I think they're interested in John Harbaugh-went back and forth on this with TSchek IIRC when the Broncos were 3-6 and the idea of change here was far more likely than it is right now.

Why is Harbaugh interested? Just because of Urban and OSU?

Michigan has had 7 10-win seasons this decade, 3 have come in the 4 seasons under Harbaugh, so I don't think his seat is particularly hot.

I don't think Jim is interested in the Packers-I think John would be if the reports about the Ravens and him parting ways at the end of the year are true.

I’m not seeing Locksley to Maryland confirmed anywhere.

The Regents approve the contract, right?

If so, shouldnt we see a public announcement for a meeting like the one above for Ville?

"GREEN BAY- Wisconsin
January 6th, 2019

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Sunday night he has formally asked Green Bay to trade him and confirmed that a Saturday meeting with new coach Josh McDaniels ended badly from his perspective, while McDaniels offered another viewpoint on Sunday night...

The reported asking price for Rodgers will start with 2 first round picks and, according to McDaniels, "a serviceable quarterback, preferably one with a neck beard and a taste for Jack Daniels."

Green Bay ownership would have offered a comment, but were unable to form coherent sentences owing to the same lack of acuity that resulted in paying $250 for a worthless sheet of paper that affords no rights or authority. Reached for comment, several owners could be heard breathing heavily through their mouths."
