2018-2019 Coaching Carousel..

Is it? Grinch's position group did poorly and he did not recruit well, wasn't long to make an impression but it wasn't a good one. Mattison's a pretty odd choice, though.
I think so. He didn’t call plays last year and is highly thought of around college football. I am certainly going to take Lincoln Riley’s opinion over day’s.

I can't imagine he actually gets a HC job in the league. A coordinator role is probably his if he wants it, but I have a hard time seeing a middling to below average college HC making the jump to NFL HC.

I don’t know, get him a proven/solid DC and let him handle the playcalling for defense while KK handles offense like McVay. I could see where the interest for him as HC comes from. Doesn’t have to recruit either obviously. Not saying I think he’s a great candidate but I see where the interest is coming from.

I can see the interest coming from teams desperately trying to recreate Sean McVay, but that ain't happening. McVay is a freak. KK seems like an elite level coordinator candidate, but I'd be very apprehensive about hiring him for the top job. Just my opinion

Clearly Day wanted Schiano gone, and I'd bet it's more about clash of personalities (or ego) than anything else.

Takes a prick like Urban to handle a prick like Schiano. Day does not need a guy like Schiano running around behind his back not following his lead.

It’s unlikely that Day would have stayed had Schiano been given the HC job. OSU was always going to lose one or the other.

The NFL is a copycat league. They see what has happened with McVay in LA and everyone wants their own version.

Swann: Kliff, we won’t let you interview. You’ll need to resign if you want to talk to them.

Kingsbury resigns

Kinda surprised everyone is just giving Kingsbury a complete pass in the saga.

Only thing I’d blame him for is that he didn’t get any assurances that he could talk to NFL teams when he took the job. The rumors that he was on the NFL radar, and possibly even for HC gigs, were out there back then.

I don’t see how you stop a guy from interviewing for NFL HC jobs. Jagodzinski did it when he was the HC at BC although he knew he was probably getting fired for it.
