'17 NV QB Tate Martell (Verbal to Ohio State)

Didn't he take an OV here during his initial recruitment?
No, he talked about wanting to visit here with the other LV recruits and enjoyed some attention from CU on twitter (tweeting out an edit, etc.) but they never really visited plus we took Lytle's commitment and he committed to Ohio State pretty quick after his visit there.

The idea that we should stop hoping serious recruits and serious transfer candidates come here is so ludicrously self defeating. If you believe that Buffs fans should stop seriously expecting good players to come play here, then you're part of the problem. That kind of ****ty culture spreads out from so called fans into the social media sphere that CU just isn't good enough to attract attention from recruits.

We should all expect Tate Martell to highly consider CU, since... he'd be sitting a year behind a draftable QB prospect and be part of reinvigorating a formerly dormant culture of winning at Colorado. It's a great opportunity and we should treat it like such.

Was waiting for someone to come with this take. Thank you.

We're talking about a guy who was just short of being a composite 5* recruit and was in line to start for Ohio State, but somehow we've got the majority of fans thinking he's a hard "no" for CU because he sent an immature tweet. :ROFLMAO:

I don't think the immature tweet is why people are saying no. I think it's the chicken littles who want to end up "being right" about their prediction, or assume no elite caliber players want to play here. Your response to BR85 in the Ford thread yesterday summed it up perfectly.

There are a lot of people saying no because of the tweet, I'm frankly not sure which take is worse - we should say no to an elite player or elite players don't want to come here.

I haven't seen many around here saying that, and I don't really care for Buffs football twitter that isn't involved with AllBuffs. Regardless, I agree, people need to start acting as if

After that post, I’m almost willing to let you have Skinsfan55 or whatever back. Almost.

You mean we actually dare to dream? Unimaginable, we aren't doomed before we even begin. All the "he isn't coming here's" do get pretty tedious.

Dream away, when CU starts to actually win and go to bowl games, you wouldn't have the negative thoughts here.

Unfortunately In the last 11 years, 2016 has been it.
