Joe Williams

Just said CU football 18 months ago to CU football now is a MIRACLE!

geezer. He is still the same hack who showed his CFB acumen by predicting CSewe would win 8-9 games last year. He's about 8 years past his time to hang it up.

Now my ire is up about.

One, they are always overestimating the Rams. Then they kept saying how terrible the Buffs were going to be last season.

Then suddenly they are on the bandwagon.

In more general - I can't stand how they are constantly blabbing on about some kid who played a dinky high school... or some old-time player or coach or team.... ARGH! DRIVES ME NUTS!

Before every break they yell "TIME-OUT"... then start their old-rambling again.

AND IF I HAVE TO HEAR ONE MORE SHOW DEVOTED TO THE BEST QB OF ALL TIME I WILL JUMP OFF A CLIFF!

Sorry, maybe my brain is a bit more addled than usual, but I have no idea what that means.

He means from the point the program was 18 months ago after losing at home to Montana State and haw far it has gone to where it is now is a miracle

Hey Joe, you remember that kid who played first base at Denver East in 1971? He owns a tire shop over on Evans now, boy he sure could play. Does a heck of a job over there with tires now...Let's step aside now..time out.

Feel better?:smile2:

I don't think that's a slam, in fact I might agree considering where we were back then. One thing about Joe, unless he's changed his stripes, he's always been a huge Buff supporter. Not so sure about "Jimmy" Armstrong, his column in the post today was less than flattering about Hawkins and CU.

I have to agree as well-
losing AT HOME to Montana St was BAD, BAD, BAD
and now just 18 months later the #1 RB in the nation
is going to play at CU.... if that's not a miracle it's damn close-

I agree too, I just thought my wording was wrong

Meh

Joe and Irv sound bitter and old.... probably because they are bitter and old... I like Jimmy tho

i think Joe is a clown. the "act" is just stupid. he's always under .500 on his handicap picks. always. and, mostly, after UT and VY won the whole thing he was a big horn guy.....now, it's back to "hating Nebraska" and CU once the tide has turned. too many allegiances for my book. and nearly almost always coinciding with whoever is winning.

i quit listening to the Fan on any kind of regular basis about a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. when i do hear it, i'm amazed how stale and repetitive it is. and how the same group of knuckleheads still have jobs. Evans, Moser, Clough, Irv and Joe, etc....no matter how they try and "package" the combinations as "the sports guys" or "hardball" or whatever cretinous marketing catch-phrase they come up to re-package the same old crap. the hilarious thing is these guys seem to think they are sports "opinion leaders" in some way.

about 4 years ago i was cleaning out my storage space and came across a bag full of unmarked black cassette tapes. i was curious what was on there, and one was about 45 minutes (one side) of an Irv and Joe show. i had to listen for about 15 minutes before i realized it was about 5 years old. the routines are all the same.

I don't know guys, I am not familiar with him or the show, but we should take it as a compliment, in my opinion.

I like Joe, he's a true red hater.

Joe put his life on the line for you and me. He was a machine gunner in 'Nam. I have, nor never will have, anything bad to say about Joe. Anyone who went through that for me is a hero. A TRUE HERO! The old fart!

Joe is typically spot on!!!!!!!!! He deals in fact not emotion unlike those of you on this board whose arguement begins and ends with.... "He is old". Good point jackasses, the sky is blue and rain is wet what else you got.

Joe is the only one with the guts to state the obvious,

John Elway is overrated and Joe has accurately presented argued this for years and as time moves on his statement is proven more and more accurate. For Jot to state that essentially 18 months ago a 2 - 10 would have the 15th best recruiting class in the nation is nothing short of a miracle especially when they have yet to past a record above 500. When you also consider that they play in one of the smallest BCS stadiums in the countyr and cant even sale it out on a regular basis, it is not a big stretch to state that the momentum that is behind Hawk and the Buffs is extremely impressive and almot unbelievable (synonym for a miracle). So quit whining, take it for what it is - fact, be thankful we are even in this position post Barnett and buy season tickets.

Just my opinion,

Go BUffs

"Wellness Center" is bad for marriage.

DBT's suit is pink.

This post is pointless (along with about 90% of my posts )

I like Mark Moser (or however you spell it..... )... he cracks me up

I like Joe for his knowledge of college football even though I don't always agree with him, but it gets old when he continuously goes out of his way to bash the Broncos and dig for negatives. Even when they're talking about the NFL in general or about an upcoming playoff game for example that don't even involve Denver, he always has to come back to "how far away the local franchise is from a championship." While that has often been true in the last 10 years, that's not the current topic when they're talking about another game and he suddenly has to go off on this tangent and start using it as another opportunity to bash the Broncos. It's fine to objective and critical of your own team, but he doesn't have to do it with such disdain.

I noticed that too. The first couple years I was out here (04,05) and NU was down, he was all over us and all about the Buffs. Then NU picks it up in 06 and CU falls and it was a miracle if you even heard either one of those names come out of his mouth. I understand that you have to talk about who's making the news in CFB, but if you advertise yourself as a fan of one team or another, don't be a bandwagoner, especially on radio!

Hey, now, the only Joe Williams that I ever remember was the Joe Williams that played Football and Basketball for Dust and Dirt High School out in Dusty Old Cow Town, Colorado back in 1979. You remember him? Pretty good football player, that guy.

Also, I just wanted to remind you all so that you don't forget to come down to the liquor store today and get some Belvedere Vodka, which means beautiful to see. I'll sure be going because old Gary Plotzman owns the joint, and he was an excellent track and field star for Mullen back in the late 80's, yes he was.
