Season prediction thread

We could also improve and have a lot better record. I actually think we are being thrown under the radar a little too much, which could be a good thing.
We were not a terrible team last year and had Viska not got hurt, we easily win 2 or 3 more games. Arizona, Oregon St, Cal are all likely wins last year with a healthy Viska and a very decent chance we would have beat Washington as well.
If he stays healthy and this team responds well to Tucker and is physical, we could surprise. Of course Montez is still our QB, but I don’t think we are as bad as some are saying and we could surprise.
I can tell you I like our chances at going to a bowl more than the “experts” are saying Nebraska wins their division.
I admit that I get a fairly constant stream of how bad the Buffs suck in Portland but I don’t buy anything until they prove it. FWIW, I don’t quite get the Duck hype either.

Well, their spirit hand signal resembles a vagina, so there's that.

7-5, with possibly 8-4 is what I visualize. 6-6 would be sad, but a bowl game is needed.
Could see this team gain steam and get better every game and could make a run at 9 wins, but lots has to go right.

6-6. Have expected a bowl game each past two years and CU didn’t deliver. Tougher schedule this year too.

I mean that coaching staff is a giant question mark but I think it’s easy to see why people are high on them. They have one of the best QBs and offensive lines in the country on top of recruiting really well the last two classes and the 2017 class was even good for a transition class.

CSU: 51-27 win
Nebraska: 38-35 win
Air Force: 42-14 win
ASU: 31-24 win
Arizona: 42-35 win
Oregon: 48-31 loss
WSU: 38-28 loss
USC: 35-28 loss
UCLA: 31-24 win
Stanford: 24-21 loss
Washington: 31-17 loss
Utah: 34-17 loss

I think the success of the season comes down to the usc, Stanford and Nebraska games.

It’s the question marks around the coaching staff and game day planning. Maybe they’ll do better this year. I also hear an amplified version of hype.

Yeah and I agree, especially with their tougher games on the road this year where they really struggled last year. I am just saying that I understand they hype to a certain extent.

Going 1-6 after another 5-0 start would be absolutely brutal

Yup, it's why the USC and Stanford games are so important for MT.
We rarely saw this program win games that they weren’t supposed to over the last 6 years. He’s definitely going to have plenty of chances to show he can do that here. Needs to be a few upsets, and I’m not even talking about the Nebraska game

5-7. Teams are going to go all out to stop the pass and make us run. I don't have a lot of confidence in our run game or our OC's ability to gameplan/adjust.

I don't think that beating Stanford and USC at home are certain upsets by the end of the year if that makes sense. USC could be in a free fall and Stanford will be pretty beat up but I guess they are coming off a bye week. I think if you are looking for upsets you look at @ASU, Washington and @WSU.

True and I guess I kind of lump Nebraska, Stanford, and Washington State all in the same bucket where, even though those teams will be favored against CU, I don't see them as true upsets if CU wins.

USC, UW, Utah and Oregon are the 4 true upset games, IMO. SC might not be good by that point, as you suggested, but until CU actually gets a W against them, that game will always be an upset game to me.

This guy and his staff will be the difference. When was the last time a coach got a head coach gig after working for Saban (or his mini-me Kirby Smart) and did not improve on the record his new team had the year before?

CU goes 12-0 and wins the Pac-12 CCG. Then beats OU in the first game of the CFP and then crushes Texas in the CFP championship game to avenge the 2005 Buffs.
