Official Buffs vs. ****braska Game Thread

Hey there mountain hippies. Been a while since I’ve visited your fine site.

Just wanted to congratulate you all for corn holing those red, flyover land living bastards in dramatic fashion. It was a most impressive showing of resilience by your team.

Now can the media stop fellating Scott Frost and STFU already about the rebirth of Nebraska football? I’m sick of that crap. That’s all. Enjoy your hangovers. They were well earned. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Thank you bay hippie!

Another good thing about a win like this ... it checks you as a fan. I came on this board at halftime to see the sentiment and maybe even make a snide comment about us being a dumpster fire, or "it's gonna be a long year ..." or some **** like that. For some reason, I didn't and I'm glad I didn't. The next time we look like **** in the first half and I'm fuming (and we know that's gonna happen again), it's good to remember games like this and trust Tucker's process. The KoolAid tastes good with a little vodka, baby!

We were so disheartened as we approached the stadium seeing so many of those creepy red lemmings milling about. But that reaction was nothing compared to the horror show when we entered Folsom. I felt like Rick Grimes in the midst of a zombie hoard! The AD needs to spend some of the profit from the game fumigating the place!

Near the end of the first half I was sad and depressed and wondering why I bother doing this anymore. It wasn’t fun. It wasn’t enjoyable. Fusker fans were, for the most part, okay. Well, except for the **** faced fuskerita behind me who would’ve made a sailor cringe with her incessant “F” bombs. At least she said “sorry” when she dumped her beer down my back.

Then there was the fusker dude in the camo hat, red and white striped overalls with one strap hanging loose to show of his ten year old worn out corn cob shirt. He kept stumbling out of the aisle, presumably to head down for another beer and a piss, running into people as he passed.

Then the second half began. Meekly at first. But something was different. The fuskers were looking a bit gassed. We were starting to put pressure on Martinez. Our offense was beginning to show signs of life. Then we scored. Then the ballsy end zone flea flicker. Then the horrible defensive faux pas on the ensuing fusker possession.

But there was nothing more joyous than the score with :46 to go to tie, the FG from Down Under and the “wide right” by the fusker kicker. The pure joy of seeing the dumbstruck (oxymoron?) red clad fusker faithful just stand there with there sad fusker faces was palpable. Except for the one drunk fusker yelling “WHAT THE **** ARE THEY RUSHING THE FIELD FOR!! I MEAN WHAT THE **** THOSE ****ERS!!”

Hahahahahahahaha! Oh the joy!!!!

When we got to the game (so much traffic - we had to abbreviate our tailgate), we were disappointed to see so much RED. Ugh. But - on the bright side - our new season tickets are on the 50 yard line and we are surrounded by some serious fans who know their stuff. We didn't have too many Nubs nearby.

Boy, this game was a nail biter! This was even more satisfying than watching CU win in Nebraska last year. We are (always cautiously) feeling good about the team's chances this year.

Just got home from the game and am still amped. What a game!!! I thought we were toast after that 75 yard answer to the Nixon TD - amazing job by this team and coaches not to quit.

The game has been dissected ad nauseum so a couple thoughts on the game atmosphere:

1) Red everywhere, that sucked.
2) The music choices during timeouts has definitely changed - no more stadium rock, lots of hip hop and it added to a fun atmosphere and the players seed to like it too.
4) CU MUST do something about the concessions - beer and food lines were 30 minutes or more everywhere. The beer line at the rooftop lounge was an hour. It’s awful.
5) I really don’t get the aluminum cups - they looked cool, but how can it be good for the environment to pour a beer from an aluminum can into an aluminum cup?? Just give people the can!

Bumped into Rick George on the field after the game and he was as fired up as anyone out there - it was awesome to see, RG is the f**king man!!
