Official Buffs vs. Air Force Game Thread

frustrating loss, but whatever...I think most of us expected (or at least should have expected) a tough game. Going into the season, we all knew there were going to be problems, particularly with the secondary. Abrams though - he's gotta get a chance for Sundays...really liking the guy. On to the next one, and hope we still get a bowl game. I didn't think we would at the start of the season, so hope I'm wrong.

No, I just know when I'm right, which is every argument with you. You really are that unknowledgeable about sports.

man...I get you're frustrated, but you're coming off as incredibly arrogant. I'm guilty of that too at times, but this seems to be a real trend with you...

Actually not frustrated. It's silly to have an emotional response to sporting events that don't involve you directly. I'm just breaking down the plays without an agenda to push.

Lock: USC
Likely: Arizona, UCLA, Stanford
Even up: ASU
Unlikely: WSU, UW, Utah
Nope: UO
USC is a lock?

I'd say UCLA is as close to a lock as we're going to get

Takes a pretty bad team to say "lock".

...just ask B_walk.

Pursell was pulled for Roddick. IDK if Lytle played on offense at all, but he was in on FG unit.
Lytle was playing at the end of the game on offense. Weird as he was the one who got absolutely blown up on that extra point. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane

I thought we had turned the corner with the bad starts after getting up 10-0 but the remainder of the half was a disaster and we needed a ball bouncing off the hands of their receiver to avoid going down 17 at the half. Can't believe how easily AF was able to run on us in the first half, or pass for that matter. A couple of those long throws were embarrassing and the coverage wasn't even close.

2nd-half defense was very good for the 3rd game in a row aside from the 1 big play we gave up in OT.

Good to see Viska have somewhat of a breakout game and Mangham's running continues to be impressive. We need to see more of him and more running the ball period. Montez continues to be his inconsistent self, that's already been heavily discussed. The big difference today is he didn't have any great moments.

This is probably what we're gonna get the rest of this season, some games where we look terrible as well as a couple of gutsy, hard-fought wins.

Landman seems to have changed...
I'm thinking part of it is learning responsibilities in a new defense. Possible that there's too much thinking going on. He looked like Nate Landman against Nebraska and someone else in the CSU game and today.

Hopefully this was a good learning lesson for this team. This team was built to be an air raid on offense and a defense that has constantly changed each year. That Air Force team was obviously an anomaly of a team that CU will see all year, but CU was exposed in a lot of areas. Hopefully, they move on quickly.

QB play is going to be wildly inconsistent though. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose to Arizona and beat Utah

Agreed, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a loss and win like that.

On that pass play he almost batted, somehow, he looked in about 6 different directions and only moved a couple feet.
Its been an issue all year. He seems to be someone who you just need to let fly and not put a lot of coverage responsibilities on. He seems to be playing the star position, or whatever that position you call on the 3rd down dime defense in the middle

I don’t have much nice to say about the defense today outside of it forcing turnovers.

But I will say this: if our offense can’t win games when the defense only gives up 23 in regulation, we won’t win much.

OL was bad today in the run game. Montez was bad Montez.

Are you basing this off of the fact that BYU is giving them everything they want, and the shine of the Stanford win has obviously been tarnished big time today, as they seem to be awful?

Based on I’ve been saying it since the summer. USC is ripe, coaching sucks and Tucker will have the team ready in Boulder.

Agree with all.
