this shouldn't even be close. if it is, it is basically saying that the only way a p12 champion gets in is if they are undefeated. that's bull****. the conference is far tougher top to bottom than the dog **** b12. conference games should matter more than that in the equation.

and, last, momentum matters. ou is not looking like it is peaking. uu has destroyed everything in their path the last few weeks and are peaking at the right time.

the only knock against uu is the ooc slate was weak sauce. but, momentum and wins against conference teams should matter more.

Either team are going to be mincemeat for LSU or Ohio State. There are three teams so above and beyond others (Ohio State, LSU, Clemson in that order) that whoever is 4 is going to have a rough go of it.

probably right, but you never know...

a lot of people i know are super sold on ohio state. i think both clemson and lsu look better but wtf do i know? and uga could beat lsu. i don't think ****ing bailer will beat ou.

Ohio State is the best team in the country and a have a resume (wins over Wisconsin likely times two, Michigan, Penn State, and Cincinnati). The Big Ten top to bottom is a better conference than the SEC. Clemson has not really played anyone since they are in arguably the weakest Power 5 conference, but with Trevor Lawernce and the experience of whooping Alabama last year they get the benefit of the doubt. My prediction is the LSU defense gets exposed against Clemson and Ohio State has a scare early against whoever number 4 is before pulling away in the second half. Leading to an Ohio State Clemson Championship Game (who wins this I have no idea until I see how the teams look against their top 4 opponents).

I think the cellar of the B1G might be better than the SEC (hard to be ****tier than Arky right now, though Nebraska gives it a hearty try), but overall I think the SEC is still tougher.

It’s the same every year, somebody comes out of the B1G with a gaudy record and gets demolished. The SEC team or Clemson will crush OSU if they make the title game.

I really dislike this system. Sure, the best teams probably do make the final 4, but it penalizes teams that play a difficult schedule as well as conferences that have more parity. When you play a schedule like Clemson, your players aren’t as banged up and you have no adversity to work through. It gives them a distinct advantage. A 10-2 or even 9-3 team that has played a tough schedule and gone on to win their conference has earned its shot at the championship, regardless of whether all the metrics on paper show they are not the “best” team in the country. I think it would be better for cfb as a whole. Wouldn’t everybody like to see Clemson playing LSU or Alabama during the regular season rather than Woford or the Citadel? Teams could schedule like that if winning your conference meant anything. The way it is now that will never happen. CFB needs more play anybody, anytime, anywhere, and less scheduling for an easy W and style points. If Oregon had scheduled Wofford instead of Auburn, they would be in the discussion final 4. Does that make any rational sense?

Oregon could have won a game in the playoff. Unfortunately, Herbert played his worst game against ASU.

Would have been a decided dog to any of the top 3. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t pull an upset, but not likely.
 
Playoff field is set... only exception would be Wisconsin blowing out Ohio State and Clemson getting blown out, neither of which will happen, and even then, it would take a lot for the committee to put a 2 loss Wisconsin team in over Clemson.

Yep. Only argument should be who gets the 1 seed.

The committee has shown they don't have the backbone to put a 2-loss team in the playoff over a 1-loss team. You could make a case for it this year too if Wiscconsin wins tonight but they'll still take the easy route and select OU as the 4th seed.

Avenging a loss and being a conference champion is an interesting proposition for a 2 loss team.
 
If Wisconsin wins, the calls for expansion will go to 100 as Ohio State stays in and Wisconsin stays out.

so, who does get in if ohio state loses? lsu, clemson are locks, then probably the okies. then, who? uga? no way they put a two loss wiscy team in. that leaves uga, bailer, and utah.

any one but bailer.
