I feel like Peyton Manning would likely have similar success if he took over a program and actually wanted to do this, but it's hard to think of many other bright football minds, who also possess the star power and magnetic personality that it takes
Prime is not about pay for play. That isn't his pitch to players and he isn't going to chase the mercenaries who are going to the highest bidder.
I lean towards the side of ---- I want those that want to play here, for Coach Prime, over those simply looking for $$$$. I want the ones to come to be determined to be a part of something special, not the size of the check they may get while here.
Yep. He is going to help them get the best deal he can, but it's not his pitch. If a kid wants 7 figures and is chasing the bag, then they can chase it elsewhere.

That phasing scares me - assume you mean NIL isn't the reason Travis Hunter is coming to Colorado, rather than he's not coming?
Travis Hunter is a 4/1 favorite to come to Colorado exclusively because of his relationship with Coach Prime and several players from JSU with whom he has relationships. It will not be because we’re the highest bidder.

That reads much better. And I agree.
He's coming because he's tight with HCP and his family and believes in what HCP is selling/teaching. I firmly believe he's signing with CU, but he is afterall, a 19 year old phenom who is going to play the game a bit, build his clout for the future and have a bit of fun before doing so. Good for him.
All of this is why the NFL needs their own development league and college football can go back to being about students and schools. If a HS graduate deserves 2M then recognize that’s his job.
Didn’t we make fun of nubs fans for the whole “if they don’t want to come here then they can get lost” mentality? Players deserve to be paid. You can be moral all you want. Adapt or die in these NIL times.

Nobody has said "if they don't want to be here, get lost", but it's a simple fact that CU does not have the booster network that aTm, Miami, Bama, Georgia, etc have and therefore are not ever going to out bid those programs for the recruits who are only chasing the most money.
So not only is CU not able to compete in that arena, Prime doesn't want to be in that arena. He has said it from day one, "NFL not NIL", and if you think he's just saying that without truly believing it, you haven't been paying attention to who he is and what he's about.
He will teach kids how to capitalize on their worth and there will be some NIL deals in place for recruits and transfers, but he isn't going to buy 18 year old kids who haven't proven a damn thing at the collegiate level.

What do you mean by "go back to being about students and schools"? College football has been big business for ages.
And the NFL already has a development league that not only produces elite players on a yearly basis at zero cost but at the same time also generates an absurd amount of money for an alleged amateur league.
Good luck to him. He said he’s staying home in Nebraska? Too bad more Nebraska fans dont do the same. They can’t wait to get out of their own state and move to Colorado.
