Coach Prime / Buffs Football Social Media Thread

Fun perspective. in 2021, CU averaged 366k viewers per game. 4.3 million views over the entire season for the football program. Let's make it 5 million with social media engagement etc.

Prime has several youtube channels that follow him around, but Sanders Jr's channel, Well Off Media, is the most followed. 201k subscribers, videos every other day or so.

His opening speech to the team alone got 4.1 million views. His basketball team visit video got 720k views. His first recruiting weekend video got 765k. His meeting with the ****ing kickers got 800k (I guess we should have seen the kicker meltdown coming). His call with Kordell got nearly 500k. And those videos do not exhaust the high numbers. I just stopped because the point is made. Even if you take out the videos about his christmas, it is a LOT of eyeballs, every week.

The viewership average has dropped some since the initial rush of attention, but he is still averaging well over 100k per video. Every. Other. Day. This does not count his instagram etc. posts.

He's been hired for a month, been in Colorado itself for maybe 10 days, has played zero games, and has brought far more eyeballs to the team in that time than it got for an ENTIRE ****ING SEASON WITH ACTUAL GAMES.

Game changing.
someone give me an idea of impression monetization...if 1 impression = 1 dollar pre PRIME and we had say 10k per day then that's $10K in brand equity / soft dollars. what are those numbers now with PRIME?? 1 impression = 3 dollars and 100k per day?? like how many orders of magnitude better are we already?

some might say that he's already paid for his salary this year in eyeballs, impressions, and brand equity. i would guess he's more than paid for it if you account for actuals and solid forecasted numbers

I don’t appreciate you raising your voice.

Steamboat is terrible and no one should go. I'm probably 20 years too late to that, it's already pretty crowded. But it was my absolute favorite growing up
Steamboat is the greatest, but as you said, is no longer a hidden gem. We used to go up for the 4th every year, tube the Yampa and go to Sun Pies, but stopped a few years ago when AirBnb/VRBO prices went out of control

One interesting thing in the Well Off videos is that there are pretty much no players anywhere. I know classes start again next week, and there is a lot of roster turnover, but there is no one in the weight room, on the track, in the treatment rooms, the lounges. Nothing.

Do we think that the players just aren't there, or that they are just cut from these vids for whatever reason?

Like the Luke Campbell? 2 Live Crew?
Yep. Nothing says Jesus like Luke Campbell! 😂 I‘ll never forget when I was 15 years old and “Me So Horny” came on the radio in my dad’s Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer with the fake wood panels. He got this shocked look on his face and said, “What in the world is this music!?!” 🤣🤣🤣

I was in my 20s when I finally saw Full Metal Jacket and found out they sampled that line from there.

I would expect we start seeing bodies around the facility starting this week. Winter break has always been a ghost town on campus

Fantastic stuff. I personally have no issue with the prayer stuff, but I can see some staff members being uncomfortable with what appears to be a non negotiable team prayer
I would be silently respectful and not have a problem with it unless there was any backlash against me for not agreeing to pray in Jesus's name to start my workday in a secular organization.

Please don’t make the players do this. Please.

As nik said, as long as there are no negative ramifications for players/staff choosing not to participate in a prayer, I’m fine with him saying one before meetings.

When I was coaching, our HC would just tell everyone to take a moment to themselves to give thanks, pray, whatever they feel like.
