22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

I think it's mostly going to be red zone and short yardage use. Prime ran full blown Air Raid at JSU. Lewis's offense has a lot more run balance, but it's still fast break spread.
At JSU, we could have used Seydou in either the air raid or our basic SWAC offense in year 1 but here, it's a lot of dirty work, Brady Russell types would be a lot better of a fit.

I never said we need a team *full* of 2 and 3 stars and mold them into winners. I just posted an interesting rags to riches photo from the draft, in the midst of some discussion on here about ratings and offers.

First off, I like the “burn it down” approach CP is taking, impressed with a few of his signings and I’m cautiously optimistic about the future. That said, I think a lot of people on this board need to pump the brakes on expectations. Prime has changed the culture … for the last 6 months. Let’s see what happens in a year or two before we say he has us totally back to prominence. Even mentioning us aspiring to the level of Ohio State, Alabama or Michigan is absurd. Our administration isn’t as hostile to athletics as it used to be, but it’s nowhere on the level of those powerhouses. The fan base and donor base is still small compared to those blue blood schools. (Selling out the spring game and season tickets is great, but totally an anomaly because of Prime.) Boulder people still by and large don’t care about football. Most of you won’t admit it, but we’d kill to have Washington State level of success the last 10 years. We wouldn’t have cycled through multiple coaches if we had, that’s for sure.
What's it like to never experience joy?

Every offseason for the past 15 years our goal has been 6 wins. Six. We finally have a reason to be wildly optimistic. I’ll never understand these takes that want us to look at the glass half empty or want everyone to pipe down on enjoying the moment. Enjoy it people.

As for WSU, solid program that no one gives two s**** about. Let’s see what conference they’re in 6-7 years from now.

Seattlebuff only comes here in season to **** all over losses and now he wants us to emulate WSU and OSU?

Not surprised on Traore. Never once heard him mentioned. Pretty sure he didn't even play in the spring game.

Someone had the audacity to give me **** when I suggested he needed to add serious weight and learn how to block. Guess I was right.

All the TEs on the roster now are 6'5"-6'6" and 245+ lbs. The one guy who has earned a number, Passarello, was a guy many here thought could end up switching to OT when he signed.

I think we know now what we want in a TE.

MSU Coleman has been given offers to leave before. Will be interesting to see where he goes but there’s def a bag involved

Tight end?
HS evaluation pegged him as a 6'5" H-Back.

My hope is that means he's a 3-down TE who can be moved around. But not sure if he can put his hand in the dirt.

Edit: Per Duff's reply, Auburn started him out at TE but moved him to WR in 2022.

So for something like this, are we assuming he was cut, or decided to transfer on his own bc he didn’t like what he felt they were going to expect from him?
My guess is he left on his own accord. Why work to be something that's extreme difficult instead of going pro doing what you do best. Honestly, I can't get mad at him if that's his logic. That said, some would have taken the challenge to be the best version of themselves but not everyone is cut from that branch.

Love all of this. The thought of MT failing, plus Mich St forking over tons of $$ for him, plus stealing some of their best players is the chef's kiss.
They are stuck with him. Pretty sure his buyout is ridiculous.

I remember when those idiots went on to the CU board and were rubbing it in pretty hard. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of fvcks
