Hey coaches, you won't have to move scott to fb for him to leave, your idiotic use of him will do that all by itself.

I was yelled at for mentioning the notion that Scott may leave in the KU thread during the game. Speedy is great, he has been quite a surprise but why not give Scott more than 1 carry in a row, maybe he could put some numbers up too. I just do not understand the decision making process of the offensive coaches. Our offense is offensive to watch. I wish i had the last 3.5 hours of my life back.

J-Fly hurt his shoulder on the first punt return, thats why he was barely in as a WR. The Scott question I have no ****ing idea

Because it was a retarded comment. The kid is just a freshman.

These Coaches suck. I just dont understand their methodology. Very frustrating not knowing what they are thinking. No one wuold question them if they were producing wins, but sh**, some of the crap they do does not make sense. I know, I know, we're not coaches. But most of us have watched enough football; we're not stupid.

Sorry, I know NOONE has ever mentioned that on here before. My bad.

Stewart is a freshman too, and how many carries does he average? Scott was the number 1 back in the country, give the kid the damn ball. They keep saying he isn't hurt, so give him some reps. I am not asking for 20 carries. I am asking for 5-10.

Scott definitely needs more carries, let's see what he can do when he's in there for an extended and continuous block of playing time.

It's frustrating to not know what's really going on. It's possible he's really hurt and they aren't telling us. It's posible there is something discipline wise going on they aren't telling us. It's possible DS doesn't want to be out there for more yet. Who knows. I wish we did, but something has to be going on. I think it's silly to think that if DS was 100 percent and wanted to be out there the coaches would just sit him anyway.

So what you're trying to say here is we fans have no idea why Scott isn't getting reps? INCONCEIVABLE!:smile2:

**** that, I'm going to pull posts out've my ass about how DScott is going to xsfer.

Would you be surprised if he DID transfer? I wouldn't. I wouldn't blame him either.

If the coaches are unwilling to explain to the fanbase why the most talented player on the football team does not get to play, then they are asking for criticism. To suggest that fans aren't allowed to criticize what appears to be, from the outside, blatant stupidity is asinine. This man makes over a million dollars a year. Money paid by alumni, tuition paying STUDENTS, and people who go to football games. It's ok to question him and hold him accountable for his piss-poor performance.

Then enlighten us and pull out of your a$$ why scott,WHO HAWK SAYS IS READY TO GO ,gets 1 carry this week?

He makes a great catch vs texas, doesn't limp to the sideline or show any signs of being injured yet we here he couldn't go.

Please, pull out of your butt the reason why hawk keeps saying his close to 100% and ready to go and then he gets 5 carries combined in last 2 games.

11-20,how dare anyone question this awesome staff and there methods and actions:lol::lol::

:dito: I think DH will lose a lot of fans this week. Proof is in the pudding, or win column. Fans are not stupid, if we arent coaches, and there seems to be some sketchy decisions that are making us wonder.

I don't know why he only got 1 carry. So i'm not going to run my mouth like you do. I'll wait until I hear from Hawk.

you run your mouth as does everyone on this board.I'm an alum of CU,not dan hawkins university.

Your going to wait until you hear from hawk:lol:, right because i'm the only one questioning what's going on with him.

How about this scenario?

Hawk means it when he says he wants to build a program with a workmanlike/lunchpail attitude. He also promised DScott that he would play his freshman year and that he would not be redshirted. DScott is the last person to make his way to camp and when he finally gets there he is waaaay overweight and completely out of shape. DScott thinks he can just jump right in and be the man like he did when he switched highschools. Unfortunately it doesn't quite work that that at this level, and especially not in a program where a coach is trying to build a workmanlike attitude within the team.

As DScott is 'finishing up his algebra class' and eating donuts, a new tough and unexpectedly good freshman shows up and works his ass off (Stewart) and the existing RB busts it every day to improve himself. DScott finally arrives at camp and although Hawk was cool with him dealing with what he needed to in the classroom, he wasn't too cool about him flabbing on up in preparation for the transition to the college game. It's not quite the attitude Hawk has in mind for his team.

Hawk goes to Dscott and points out that he doesn't think Scott is ready and that he needs to red shirt one of his two big name rb recruits. Hawk has promised not to RS Scott and won't if Scott doesn't think it's a good idea too. Scott doesn't want to RS so Polk gets it.

Hawk keeps his word and doesn't slap the redshirt on Scott, but he also rewards the RBs who display the characteristics that he is looking for by giving them the ball in the games.

Hawk knows that this decision might cause DScott's departure. But in the end it doesn't really matter to him because he thinks the message he sends to his team (and to Scott) is more important than that. Hawk knows how he was able to win at BSU and how his team beat OU last year.

The message he sends the message to his team: "This is the big 12, this ain't intermurals. You work hard, you practice hard, and you play hard." Hawk really believes that an attitude like that is the key to winning in games and winning in life. It's not all just bluster and bs. He believes it, and he lives it.

Possible?

edit: please note that this is entirely conjecture. no sources or anything.

Nice spin Syko.

I questioned the playcalling earlier in the year. I wasn't happy with the CSU or the EWU game. I do voice my opinion. Not quite like you do though. I don't like the way they used Scott. But if the kid is hurt then they should sit him. I've said this before.

IM a supporter if CU, not sure how feel about DH right now. I think I want to see the money before I think he's the coach that can get us where we want to be. Perhaps we got the wrong BSU coach. Guess we wont know until 2012. Great 4 more yrs of sketchy playcalling, and excuses of injuries and youth, w/o owning up to the obvious. Poor coaching, poor QB play, poor gameday decisions, and inability to adjust throughout the game and season. I think the OU win is a fluke and I dotn see ANY hints of improvement. Mediocfre at best, good for the WAC not for the Big XII. He might get a pass this season with all this talk of the Big XII being the strongest conference, but he is not coach that will get to the promised land.

I met DS when he first got on campus this summer.

To say he was "waaay out of shape" is stupid and categorically false. He was in no way overweight. He was big, maybe bigger than he should have been, but to suggest that he was in some sort of horrible physical condition is BS - I talked to him for a couple minutes and he did not look any kind of out of shape.

If DH drives off THE most highly recruited player in the nation last night year, outside of Pryor, he will singularly prove that he is screwing something up. The only thing DH has done well at CU is recruit and if he drives off an absolute blue chip then he is at fault, period, and there are zero excuses.

How often does CU get the opportunity to have these kind of players on their team? This isn't USC, this isn't Florida or Texas or LSU or Oklahoma or even freaking Oregon.

We don't get blue chip players every year. We aren't in a position to cop some BS attitude and bench them. CU isn't a program where there are so many good players that mishandling the most talented football player to step foot on folsom field in over five years is acceptable. Play the man or he will leave and this program will take a nosedive.
- if it hasn't already.

For all the hatred for GB here at least he was productive and put a good product on the field some years. Something that DH absolutely hasn't done.

I understand that listening to the post game on 850, that J-FLy hurt his shoulder... But can someone explain why our 07 leading receiver is riding pine 70% of the time? (Scotty McKnight)?

And love the heart and effort of Cody Crawford: But we ran Celestine out of town for this kid?

Have to support valdez in this argument.. A lot of you guys are way too hung up on Scott's playing time..I admit its strange that he isn't playing more, but Speedy has been doing great and just because Scott was a 5 star out of high school, it shouldn't guarantee him automatic playing time or that he's guaranteed to be the best player on the team.. I'm down on the coaches, but I have to believe that if Scott was showing in practice that he was drastically better than Speedy or even Sumler, he would be playing.. My guess is that they aren't comfortable with him in pass protection, so that is why his time is limited..

One guy above mentioned this ain't Dan Hawkins University.. True, very true.. But this ain't Darrell Scott University either..

And you guys that are criticizing Hawk for saying Scott is fine, doesn't mean that its true.. Lots of gamesmanship when it comes to injuries with coaches, so I wouldn't believe everything they say..

Its been mentioned and documented that Scott came into camp out of shape.. That's not the coaches fault...

I saw DScott in the fall. He admitted that he was overweight. He was running wind sprints after practice.

if J-Fly was hurt enough to not be playing much at WR, why on earth was he returning kicks ?
