I usually start this thread in December, but we're off to a rocking start with the Clemson folk extending Tommy B. and then canning his fanny, all within 10 months.

As the season plays out, more schools will be looking for coaches and this aspect of CFB has become almost as entertaining to me as recruiting.

Feel free to post info, or completely unfounded rumors as you see fit.

Jobs now open:

Clemson

Auburn OC

Jobs likely to open:

UW

KSU

TT (Leach rumored to be growing weary of Lubbock, imagine that)

Syracuse

and possibly 114 other D1 schools...stay tuned...

Another open job is Purdue, as Tiller has announced he is retiring at the end of the season. Also, Joe Glenn is a possible kill in Wyo.

I think Tiller has already hand picked his successor. But I'm not sure about that. Cowboy Joe is on thin ice, but still has a song in his heart I'm sure....

Yep, Tiller named his successor, and if I remember correctly, he looks exactly like Tiller.

Edit: Here is a link to the guy.Tiller:part 2

Who would they get to replace them though? I agree that they're pretty underwhelming but I don't see many viable alternatives out there.

Kiesau is serviceable as interim OC and can make his case for a full time appointment by winning out the season, and Hawk can do a GB and take over Special Team's duties. He always says "his" ST's create turnovers and opportunities.

Let's do it!

They hired Joe Williams?

Charlie Weis
Phil Fulmer
Mike Stoops - Bob's Brother
Joe Pa (by retirement)
Bobby Bowden (by retirement)

ya there are rumors staring to circulate that even though his team is 4-2 he is out at the end of the season and will be on OU's staff before next year....

Syracuse - obviously.
UW - probably, from the sounds of it.
KSU - I've heard some rumblings about Prince but I don't know that he's about to be canned.

Add Fulmer to the list, I can't imagine he'll last with the year they're having, even with the modest expectations for this season.

EDIT: I just noticed that Miami had already added Fulmer.

Two other jobs soon to be open:

CU - Offensive Coordinator

CU - Special Teams Coach

Tyrone Willingham has to be out at Wazzu this year as well....He's a combined 11-30 and 6-23 in the Pac 10 with the Huskies...and if you've made absolutely no progress in 4 years (actually negative progress it seems) ya gotta go

He's not at Wazzou. He's at Udub.

Maybe Tenn. and Auburn should just trade TT for Fulmer straight up. It seems all the SEC does is trade coaches around every few years, so that should shake things up.

If Tuberville gets fired, I'm gonna be pretty pissed.

Firing 'ol Tommy big ears would be pretty stupid IMO, while he hasn't gotten the MNC, he has produced a string of very solid national performers in the toughest conference in CFB.

Did the CU win put a dagger in the job retention hopes of HCRP? Three tough upcoming games for KjSU with OU, MU and KU. Saul any comment?

KSU caught lightning in a bottle with Snydley. They were one of the worst programs in the history of college football before he got there. With Jabba the Hutt and Pinkel snapping up any decent talent from the KC area, it's going to be increasingly difficult for them to have success at KSU. IMO, they should start lowering their expectations.

Chuck Long at SDSU just got the dreaded vote of confidence from his AD...stay tuned.

Chuck Neinas' firm hired to consult with Syracuse...looks like G. Robinson is a goner...no real surprise there.

I think kjsu gives Prince-s one more year. They have a track record of keeping losers.

Might as well start it now - newweasel at fucla. He's always on the hot seat.

I'm not sure if he got a vote of confidence as much as a vote of "our endowments just got their asses kicked in the market and we really don't need to be buying out any contracts right now"...

I'll be interested to see where Muschamp (sp?), the ut dc ends up. That guy seems to have some serious juice. If Tenn is looking to shake things up, I think that hire would do it.

I also wonder who'll turn up in the Udub search. Peterson? Would Kiffin stay in the Pac 10 and compete against Carrol?

Without actually wishing he gets canned, I'm wondering where Joe Glenn will end up. Despite the fact he's managed to create the worst group of qb's in d1, I think he's a decent coach.
