According to the camera Bohn may be toying with the idea Your thoughts? yes no and if so how much and where

we need to keep the fanbase we currently have. there will come a time to raise prices as appropriate in the next two years based on team performance. this year is not the year to do it...

is there an answer beyond no like hmmmm... i dunno how about **** NO ARE YOU ****ING HIGH MIKE NO ****ING NO AND IF YOU DO ILL KICK YOU IN THE BALLS REPEATEDLY

can you edit the poll to place that as another response

There is a time and a place for everything. The Broncos raised ticket prices after they won two super bowls. The Avs after they won a Stanley Cup. The Rockies after a NL championship.

Getting the picture here? Now is not the time to be raising prices. We need to fill the stadium first, then develop a waiting list for season tickets, THEN raise ticket prices.

It's not a matter of whether or not many of us would continue to buy. We probably would. The issue is that it send the wrong message to prospective ticket buyers. Bad idea.

It's not just that, but raising ticket prices in the current economic climate makes the a price increase look even more stupid.

It doesn´t only send the wrong message, but it might actually cost you money in the end as I can guarantee you some people think higher ticket prices = more money in the pocket and they don´t consider that when you raise ticket prices, way less people might show up.

Just an extreme example

50k per game at 50 bucks = $2.5m per game
40k per game at 60 bucks = $2.4m per game

If you know demand for your tickets is high enough and you´ll sell out pretty much every game, you can raise ticket prices ... if there´s a legit chance raised ticket prices might not only cost you money, but butts in the seats and everything that comes with it also, you do not raise ticket prices ... especially as everything that comes with having a full house for pretty much every game in my opinion is more important than a few bob more in your pocket.

Extreme example again, but what would you prefer

50k every game at 20 bucks each or 10k at every at 110 bucks each?

I think they should have to give us back $10 if the team loses. More they lose the less they make. Win now phuckers.

CU already has some of the most expensive tickets in college football. I vote for **** No.

I was thinking the same thing. To me with the economic outlook and current conditions it would be much harder for me to buy season tickets. I know i am an extreme case but it would be that much more for me to travel to each game from omaha and added cost of higher tickets.

Do i think they should raise tickets? yes but NOT NOW. we need better performance on the field and constancy. Right now we need to build fan base not demand more money and drive down attendance numbers. We have a hard enough time getting people to show up for games at the current prices. Last year we had in increase of season ticket sales for the first time in a long while. Why jeopardize that with higher ticket prices.

Bottom line is this is not the right time for a price raise. Become successful, have a few winning seasons in a row, consistently make and win bowl games, and challenge for the North championship and big 12 champ then raise prices.

Until then Bohn is out of his mind and should maybe think about lowering prices due to poor results. (not going to happen just saying)

<rant/> For the record, the Broncos have raised ticket prices every year since '99 as well even when putting a s*** product on the field year in and year out (the run to the AFC Championship was a fluke). My ticket price at Mile High in '00 - $68/seat - today $110/seat and will probably go up again next year. Now how many playoff victories have there been in that time (see fluke comment above)?

While the stadium is filled each week, you see less and less repeat customers as a result which leads to crappier fans/fan experience.

Just some facts. Now back to the topic...<end rant>

The salary cap has more than doubled since.

Raise them a little for nicer seats and people who have been in for a while, keep the cheap seats the same and fiddle with lux box pricing to ensure they remain sold out.

Here's my suggestion:

Keep ticket prices the same.

Add a teaser to the price. If CU wins, everybody has to pay $10 to get out of the stadium. If CU loses, fans may mob the concessionaires like a Mongol horde. I bet you'd get more fannies in the seats.

If I were Bohn I'd consider moving the game to Denver and lowering the prices. The added capacity might actually make them more money by tapping into a newer and larger fan base as well as absorbing the folks that are also being economically crippled and will cancel their Broncos tickets. I don't know the use fee charges and wether that would be viable costwise. I was consider tickets for next year as my oldest will be 6 and might be able to go. But work just altered my pay for '09 and they did NOT give me a raise.

I know this will not be popular. :finger:

Are you talking about moving the CSU game to Denver or what?

I remember when Oklahoma State raised their season ticket prices a couple years ago. They raised ticket prices across the board. Single game tickets and season tickets - both doubled in cost- from $40 per ticket to $85 per ticket.

Then this past year they really went over the top. They made the decision that there would be NO single-game ticket sales to the OU/OSU game. If you wanted a ticket to the OSU/OU game in Stillwater, you had to buy a season ticket. (This didn't include the 5,000 tickets that OSU gave to OU to sell)

I am not sure exactly how well it worked.

they are #13 in the country and were undefeated for a long time, I am sure it worked just fine...

Im talking about moving the entire season. If it helped CU financially would you be against that?

Absolutely. For one, I don't think you would see much of an increase in ticket sales. Second, I don't think Mr. Bowlen would be too keen on the idea. Finally (and most importantly), moving the games off campus would be a terrible move IMO.

Can you explain why you think this move would benefit CU?

The salary cap has more than doubled since.

Regardless - from a fan perspective is sucks to be paying so much more for such crap on the field.

The fact that the salary cap has doubled in that time is just absolutely a joke in the first place. These whiny bitches already make way too much money.

...but, there are still the idots out there who will pay so they can do whatever they want. I frankly have to sell most of mine these days because of kids and the fact the my priority is CU football...its sad.

Raise them in the skyboxes if you have to, leave everything else alone until a winning team is on the field year in and year out.

Raise ticket prices to, say, $1,000 per ticket. That would raise $50,000,000. Then lower tuition. Especially for those with, oh, 2 or more kids in school!
