Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Just decommitted from UCLA Per ESPN.com

WR Paul Richardson decommits from UCLA

Paul Richardson of Serra (Gardena, Calif.), considered one of the top Class 2010 receivers on the West Coast, has reopened his recruitment after having made an early pledge to the Bruins.

Richardson verballed during the early part of his junior year to UCLA. He is now considering California, Oregon, the Bruins, Arizona State, USC, Colorado and Oregon State. The Trojans and Ducks have not offered.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Paul transferred to Junipero Serra from Los Alamitos over the summer. Maybe Clark Evans can swing him our way.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

i thought that helmet looked familiar

is it scout who said he decommitted

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Evans had some good WR's to throw to last year. Still think this guy ends up at UCLA (his dad played ball there)

I though he was a UCLA lock. But his decomittment from the program really surprised me. Hopefully he is wanting to go out on his own. Get away from CA for the next four years.

Yup. Sounds like we have a pretty good shot if he doesn't pick a Cali school.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

After the transfer he is attending the same high school as Robert Woods(4* 6.0 on Rivals, likely to end up a 5*). That high school also has the top WR out west for the 2011 class too. Time for Clark to do some recruiting.

I have faith in Clark.

Clark Evans always gets his way.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Free film at Scout from a UCLA camp. Looks like he calls himself offside every play...

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Colorado still very much in the hunt for Paul according to his recent interview with Scout.com.

Funny, I didn't know whether to post this in the Clark Evans or Paul Richardson thread, but you made it easy for me.

Evans (as you all should know) is #5 for Los Al, red/white/blue.
Paul Richardson was his favorite receiver, #8 in the video.

You have to imagine these guys liked playing together from the success they had on the field.
This game was in the fall of 2008.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

If we can just show something in our passing game this year, the depth chart at WR has to look pretty appealing to blue chips.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

But if Richardson knows what Evans can do for him, and vice versa, that's an attraction that's hard to beat.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Evans is a big reason why he is looking at CU. I think we have a pretty good shot. But let's be honest. If the offense continues to struggle, we're going to have issues recruiting skill players on the offensive side of the ball (particularly WRs).

Okay, let's just tell the offense not to struggle.

:smile2:

Come on, guys!

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

What kills me is that "mediocrity" or, dare I suggest it, "competence" would be such a major improvement to our offense that most Buff fans would do back flips.:smile2:

Seriously, though, given the struggles of last year and how close we still were to going to a bowl... this team may actually have the talent to be great if they can put it together.

So close, man, so close. Let this be the year it all starts to make sense.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

We were "so close"... We were also very close to losing games vs. Eastern Washington, Iowa State and Kansas State (all at home). With an OT home win against a WVU team that had a brainless coach (that night), and an opening win vs. CSU under a new coach. I think it could have been a lot worst.

I still think we got some work to do to be "great". I think we got a chance to be good.

That's the spirit!

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

You realize that "getting so close to making a bowl game" makes you a bad team, right? Not to be negative here but falling just short of 6-6 is not exactly a positive for a major college football program.

Just getting to a bowl is not an accomplishment in CFB anymore. It means you are one of the roughly top 75 teams in the nation.

From a fans POV maybe. But to say a bowl game means nothing is not true. Going to a bowl game and getting a win can swing some momentum in the right direction. In just about every aspect of the program. Sometimes all you need is that little push(bowl game).

The bowl game season may be the last thing that a recruit has to consider before making a decision, as well.

:yeahthat:

I absolutely believe we would have gotten a few more highly regarded recruits in the 2009 class if we had made a bowl game. The difference between 5-7 and 6-6 does not seem like much, but it is.

Re: '10 CA WR Paul Richardson

Opened up recruiting again, what are our odds BB?
