Almost forgot that the guy resigned from Auburn, what do you guys think about him as a coaching candidate for the eventually vacant HC job?
Proven coach, suffered from extremely impatient and unrealistic Alabama fans in the extremely tough SEC.
No we need someone who bleeds CU FOOTBALL, someone who played or coached at CU during our glory days someone who knows what it takes to take CU back to where we belong and that's in the TOP 10 every year.
Hiring from 'with-in' is a foolish idea that greatly reduces your pool of solid applicants and ultimately increases the chance you'll fail.

you mean like how John Blake and Mike Shula "got" OU FOOTBALL and ALABAMA FOOTBALL?
pass on the back to the past hire.

Um do you know who Tubbs is?
He coached at Auburn, and he was their for near 10 years, his inability to replicate his undefeated season is what did him in not impatience.

You guys keep bringing it up and I cannot help but laugh. I love the guy and he would be a HORRIBLE fit for Boulder. HORRIBLE fit.
Like Bill McCartney was a horrible fit for Boulder. WINS, I tell you!
I also think you guys would pull your hair out if you hate Dan Hawkins' postgames. But hey, Auburn, Alabama and Boulder are pretty much the same place.
That's the least of my concerns. A guy who won in the SEC in his first head coaching job is very attractive to this program, IMO.
You need to understand how he won those games. He recruited Georgia, southern Alabama, and the Florida panhandle exclusively (along with southern JUCOs). How is that going to work at CU?
We'd get a few guys from there, I believe. And more than that, whoever's one the roster would be coached well. A college team doesn't go 13-0 on the strength of athletes alone.
Believe me, I'm not ignoring your concerns. I just think it's worth looking at if you're Bohn. Guy's had his eyes shut this year, period.
Okay. Just know also that the guy loves Auburn (family does too-bought a newer house not too long ago) and he has had some health issues recently. Not sure a major move across the country is in the cards.
Fair enough. For the record, I want Gary Kubiak. Geography would be much kinder to him.

Slick Rick was successful before he took off, GB won before he got canned, we went out side of the house and look where we are at now. I understand your argument but right now CU isn't the CU of the 90's and what big name coaches do you think would want to come to CU and start all over?

We are a QB and 2 WR's away, along with a seasoned DC who can use the talent we have to get this D to stop giving up huge plays. The talent nucleus right now, mostly Sophomores and younger, is much better than it's been since 2002.
