Seriously. I don't think we are going to see a bowl game at the end of the season, but if the OL can continue showing progress and Cody can finally break out of his funk, we could see some solid steps forward.

Sat, Oct 10 Texas
This game/loss could change the course of the season for us. Maybe in a good way. 1-4
Sat, Oct 17 KANSAS
I think Kansas is a very beatable team. They are definitely not better than WVU imo. 2-4
Sat, Oct 24 Kansas State
We should beat these guys. 3-4
Sat, Oct 31 MISSOURI
Tough game. Mizzou should win this one easily. 3-5
Sat, Nov 07 TEXAS A&M
Another game we should win. 4-5
Sat, Nov 14 Iowa State
Win. 5-5
Thu, Nov 19 Oklahoma State
No more Dez Bryant. Could steal this one in Stillwater. Probably not. 5-6
Fri, Nov 27 NEBRASKA
This game is always a winnable game imo. Rivalry. 6-6?

Whoa now. How would all the fans here react to that?

At this point I would be thrilled to go 6-6. That says more about the state of the program than any further analysis I could give.

I will not take a single win for granted and I will be happier with each one.

Really, if the team started to show the energy and ethusiasm and progress we all thought we'd see this year, I'll be fine. Even with 6-6 record, just start improving.

Could happen, but depends on how the game plays out vs texas imho. If we are competitive and they improve on both sides and stay injury free, maybe they come back with a little bit of confidence and your scenario plays out.

I would like to see simas and simmons get 3 or more catches and stewart AND scott do some good on the ground.

Like to see better tackling and some int's from our good secondary, mainly cb's.

I was hoping for 7-5 and a bowl win to 8-5. After what we've seen so far, 6-6 and a bowl game would be a blessing.

Before the season started, most fans said they'd be happy with a lower tier bowl game.

And look how far away a lower tier bowl game appears to be now. Unless some light switches on for this whole team we're probably looking at another 9 month wait to see if maybe, possibly, hopefully we can have a winning season. Not exactly what we hoped for out of Dan Hawkins and company is it?

Let's just ignore the fact that every single team left on our schedule actually has a winning record, has looked better than us this year, and beat us last year (except for KSU and ISU who really should have beaten us and get to play us at their home this year).

In all honesty, I'm having trouble seeing where the 2nd win is going to come from and don't know how you guys (and Ringo on his blog this week) are able to wrap your minds around 6.

God dammit! I don't want anyone jumping on my bandwagon! :smile2:

Even with 6-6 and a bowl game it'd still be hard to forgive CSU and Toledo. A win over the fuskers would ease much of that pain. But, those two loses made the Montana St. and Baylor loses @ home in '06 not seem like such an aberration.

valdezj u smoking the :canabis: again?

I see maybe 3 games that are winnable on the schedule.. Even as bad as missouri is, we'll still lose to them..

A$M, Iowa State and KjSU.. Take into account that Hawk is what 2-15 on the road and I say it will be a miracle if he double that this season..

3-9 Buffs..

Yay mediocrity!!!
Yeah, it sucks. But it isn't about that, for me. It's about this program gaining momentum. If Hawkins does not turn it around, then I'll be as glad as anyone to see him go.

What momentum? 6-6 is momentum?

I can't look at the schedule anymore and find likely wins. I tried that before the season and we're 1-3 when i thought we'd be at least 3-1.

I appreciate your optimism but I just don't see it, particularly with regards to the Kansas game.

I guess the bigger question here is not whether or not we can or should win the games you say we can or should win, but whether or not we actually will win the games we are supposed to.

Essentially, it is fair to say we should beat both ISU and KSU. I expect we will lose one of those games, even though, despite my general air of negativity, I think we are better than both of them.

Hmm. I guess I was thinking 5-2 and winning the North is momentum.

6-6 cu team in the big 12 championship would have the big 12 commish scrambling for a rule change.

I'd take it. We have to get something positive going forward to next season.

It would be funny, that's for sure.

Hey. I'm just trying to think positively. I know it's going against the grain on just about all of the CU boards. :smile2:

5-3 in the Big 12 is what all the pumpers (myself included) thought we were good enough to achieve before the season started. I don't know how you could still see that.

But, hey, come Saturday I'll be dressed in Buffs gear (so will my wife and my son), and I'll talk myself into expecting an upset for the ages when we take the field against Texas. I'll post some justifications for why I think we'll win... and then at some point during the evening I'll likely get drunk and completely melt down on how much Juicebox and Orangeslice suck.

Go Buffs!

While I don't root for the Buffs to lose I think 6 and 6 is a real reach and a difficult scenario.

If he manages to squeeze out six wins he has presented justifiable cause to continue as coach to administration.

The problem with this is that many obvious coaching faults have been exposed this season and I don't see him as a humble man, willing to make changes in the way he does things.

This would also mean that for all the griping that has gone on about personnel this season there will be little or no change next season in this are either. Cody will still start and players like Scott, Simmons and Simas will still spend most of the season "dinged up", "a little behind", "lazy", or suspended for some mysterious reason.

You talk about turning it around?? Well, I'll be convinced if Hawk can run the table with the remaining games, Texas game excluded (though I'd still expect a decent showing in this one) Hawk made this mess from my viewpoint he can just go 7 -1 from here on out and fix it. I think Rush (the band) has it right "Show me, Don't tell me"
