He might not be what we need but come on yall, the guy absolutely gives it all he has. He is a Buff in my book. I saw the look on his face tonight and the guy was crushed. Hes played his heart out for this school, thank you Cody Hawkins.

Thanks Cody! You'll always be a Buff in my book. You always gave your all and left your heart on the field.

I appreciate everything he's done for the school. I defended him tonight and I'll continue to do so. He probably won't read this but Cody, I'd go into battle with you bud. You'd probably take a swing at me for the things I've said about your dad but harsh criticism is just part of the nature of his profession. It has no bearing on the respect I have for your toughness.

For sure. I am proud to have Cody Hawkins represent my University.

I was hard on him today, but ya, I really do appreciate what he does. Thanks Cody. stay strong buddy!

I wish things had worked out differently--I seriously do--but Cody Hawkins the person is someone that I think we can be proud to have represented the University of Colorado. I bet it's tough for him right now to have lost his spot on his Dad's team, but he's shown to be a warrior and I have no doubt he'll make it through this and learn a lot from it. Much respect Cody.

Cody is one of the GREATEST BUFFS of all time if you ask me.

Because of his talent? No. But because of his toughness, his leadership, his heart and his character.

I wanted so badly for Cody to succeed but it just wasn't meant to be. I want anyone who wears the CU uniform to succeed but I wanted it more for him because of who he was and what he was up against.

Thank you Cody for Being a Great Buff!!!:drink2::gobuffs:

My advice to him would be keep your head up and keep working, I know he will, his career isnt over. He just isnt starting, he is still on the team and we might need him.

Can u imagine how tough it would be to not only start at CU but your dad being head coach? He has double the pressure. He has pissed me off for 2 years but i wont throw a guy that gives everything he has under the bus. That dude that posted that garbage about Cody in the other thread made me sick to my stomach. Those are the fans we should be ashamed of.

I've always said that Cody embodies alot of what I like about college football. He's scrappy, intelligent, and he plays hard. Been down on him lately, but mostly out of frustration from watching my Buffs lose (not all his fault).

Having a solid backup QB is crucial. I think he'll do a great job helping Hansen prepare, and will be an experienced replacement if the unthinkable happens. I have no problem at all with him receiving an education on our tab. I think he'll be stronger for the adversity, and succeed wherever he ends up when he gets his walking paper.

I'm with everyone on this. He never gave up, and he's been in this program during some bad, bad losses. Didn't complain or call out his teammates in public. Just went to work and left it all on the field. Give four and five stars that kind of heart and you have a seriously contending team.

I look at it this way.

#1 he isn't dead so you guys need to stop talking about him as if he is.

#2 he's about the best backup any Div 1 team could hope for.

#3 he's a great kid. And I mean a GREAT kid.

#4 he'll continue to help us during this season and next season.

#5 there is no #5. Oh wait, yes there is. We need to run a 2 back offense with 2 actual running backs. Then maybe we wouldn't be doing the dang RIP thing with Cody.

All I can say is, HYPOCRITES! Well, probably not most of you. But.........................

Not a hypocrite, said Hansen should start because he adds a different element. Dont poke your chest out, it was the right move finally, just bad timing. Dont talk **** when you add nothing other than, just give it time and im disgusted with Buff fans when 14-28 later u have no argument.

Winning is what shuts people up as far as critics. They might try to find something to bitch about yes but it sure as hell isnt about winning football games.

Cody seems like an awesome person. I really think his true calling is as a coach. He can start working this week on getting Tyler ready and working with Evans too. I would venture to guess that in 10 years he'll be a hot name in coaching as an OC or QB coach. His future is very bright. I wish him all the best.

One of the greatest things you can say about Cody is that not one of us is worried that he will be a poor influence on the sideline now. We know full good and well that Tyler will have his full support and assistance.

Thanks Cody for putting your heart on the line every down.

Hypocrite?? Maybe, but I've always said he had a big heart.
Few more physical tools and the Buffs would be in the top 25 right now

Wow, for a minute there, I thought we'd actually have a Cody appreciation thread per the title. Don't you think there are enough "let's discuss quarterback ability and play" threads out there with out posting that HERE? On this thread?

I do.

I agree. Cody has shown that he has the heart, and will keep fighting against all odds. Great kid. I hope he has a great career at coaching or whatever else he wants to do.

How about you use this thread to appreciate what Cody has given to the program instead of attacking other posters?

Thank you Cody. Like others have said, the kid gave his all every second of every game and was someone we could be proud of -- well spoken, respectful and a damn good person. This off-season I kept hoping Cody could put it together because lord knows he deserves success, but it just wasn't meant to be. Next year on senior day, I will put aside any anger I might have towards his father and give him the loudest cheers of any of the players on the field that day.

I just hope that in five years, more people remember him for the win over Oklahoma than the games like last night's.

I love that kid like a son. In fact I'd legally adopt him if I could, if only to silence the accusations of nepotism.

Seriously, Cody is a warrior and a true Buff.

Go Buffs!

Cody has done more with less than anyone else on the team. Heart, guts and determination took him to heights well beyond his physical gifts. He is the spirit of college football and I am extremely proud he is a Buff.

Now, as BigHawk said, "Cody wants to be a coach. He`s going to learn what it`s like to be a coach." Your team still needs you Cody. Just in a different role.
