going into the year UT was a no-hoper IMO. So I'm not bent they got over on CU at home.
Bright spots. Sipili back in the LB rotation. West, Rippy, Bonsu and Kasa are all good players who should, assuming there is any player development, become very good defenders.
The OL held their own on pass protection and manged some decent running gains, just not a lot of consistency to the run game.
UT is overrated IMO. The inability to run the ball continues to haunt them.
QB change. Well, now we'll see if TH is better. It is hard to believe he'll be worse. The staff did what everybody knew needed to be done as far back as the KU game last year. Still throwing five yard outs form a backpeddle off you back foot? That one play sums up the last two and a half years of QB play. I was a frickin' OL/DL (and not even at D1 level) and even I have heard every frickin' coach I ever played for lecture the QB about setting his feet to get velocity on the ball. Absolutely mind-boggling.
If TH proves to be better, CU wasted half of last season and half of this season by failing to do the obvious and that will be on the staff.
If TH isn't any better, I'm asking myself why in year four the staff hasn't recruited/developed a better option. And again, I will blame the staff.
For the first time, I do feel like there is a glimmer of hope for the O. If you cannot stretch the field and back the safeties off with the occasisonal deep middle of the field completion, your O will get stuffed by a loaded box, WCO or not...JMO.
