Scott Knee Scope

aik said Scott is getting he knee scoped in the Scott thread. I figure this is big enough news to start a new thread. What the ****? Can anyone confirm?

So maybe it was one of those "little things" keeping him from seeing the field much.

Best wishes for a fast recovery to Darrell.

If it wasn't getting better (which is what it seems), it's good for him to get this taken care of instead of letting it linger.

I guess he was "a little nicked up."

Thanks for catching that, aik.

Just caught it on the Twitter and, while stunned, hope this takes care of whatever's nagging with Scott's health. Would really like to see Lockridge get more carries, slot time, whatever, to spell Speedy so the workload doesn't sideline him too.

Yep. I'm definitely worried about Speedy's workload.

Meaning Speedy's workload. :smile2: Don't want RS turning into a 50 y/o Earl Campbell by Thanksgiving because he's been running it 40 times a game.

And concerned about Scott's knee in spite of it being reported as minor. In the world of sports medicine, knees are pretty tricky to get right with one procedure. Worried this could be a career lingerer.

3 weeks is a long time.
It depends on the intrusiveness of the scoping and the rate his body heals at. My boss had his knee scoped (minor one) 3 weeks ago and he was clambering up and down trails on a fishing trip a week and a half later (and he's 40 and not likely to heal as fast as a 20 year old). If they are just going in to do a minor cartilage clean up I wouldn't be surprised if DS plays against Mizzou.

I know Speedy is our most productive RB, but why is everyone acting like Scott is second tier or doesn't matter? He could be very helpful to us in the future and I'd like to keep him here. It would be a huge loss if he transferred, but I wouldn't blame him.

who takes DS' place returning kicks? Please tell me it's not espy...This has been a part of our game that has been decent, Brian Lockridge should be the guy...but you never know with Hawk.

Interesting stat: B-Lock and DS are currently #22 and #24 respectively (nationally, based on average) returing kicks this season.

B-Lock:5 games, 9 returns, 242yds, 26.89yd avg, and 1.8 returns per game
DS: 5 games, 21 returns, 564yds, 26.86yd avg, and 4.20 returns/game

I think you just answered your own question. B-Lock has looked really good back there this year and always seems to be one block away from scoring.

that was my point. I wouldn't be surprised to see espy and sumler back there though.

I remember reading in the Buffzone article that Scott's duties would be handled by Lockridge. I'd be very surprised to see Espy back there. It's a different skill set to return kickoffs and punts.

Anybody else notice ringos snippy comment about ds being available only to journalists working for cu?

Well I was hoping to see B-Lock in the backfield more. I didn't want it to happen with injury though.
