if we get him, we GOTTA get the Iolani guy. Punahou is my alma mater's rival... Would make for fun times.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

Punahou kids LOVE CU. There were TONS (compared to me being the only Iolani one for quite a while) when I was at school.

I had a few Punahou kids when I was at CU. They told me that CU actually had a booth during their HS college days. There was (might still be) a Hawaiin/Islander student organization at CU, and many of those kids were Punahou grads. This sort of made me really optimistic about Teo last year, but whatever. I would love to see us get back into Hawaii and Texas recruiting.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

Now rated 3* on both Scout and ESPN. Rivals hasn't rated yet.

Sounds like we're his clear #1 right now.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

If we could nab Crabb, Hatchie, and Epenesa out of Hawaii this year, I would be very happy. Even two of the three would be plenty nice.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

That's awesome. Isnt that when aTm is visiting us. CU should put out a good showing for the visiting recruits, especially this guy.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

A couple posters at Rivals have suggested that Crabb is an unannounced verbal to CU. Either way, I'm hoping to see an announcement from him after this weekend's visit.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

I expect to get commitments out of Crabb and Bell from this weekend.

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

I'm wondering why we haven't seen a post-visit interview anywhere?

Hmmm.

New one from Scout's Northwest Recruiting Analyst today:

Crabb also said that his interest in Colorado is strong enough that his verbal commitment is imminent. "I think it will be soon," he said.

=============

I'll wait for an official declaration before I mark Crabb as "Committed to CU", but it's pretty much an open secret that he is a CU verbal.

Wait.....did the recruiting analyst or did Crabb say "I think it will be soon"? If it was KC, come on, dude, pull the trigger!

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

I don't know what Crabb's waiting for. He's said everything short of "I'm going to be a Buff!".

Here's the latest: Notes from 2009 Aloha Prep Bowl

Crabb said Colorado is in the lead

"I took an official visit to Colorado, and I liked that a lot," Crabb said. "I have been to Colorado three times before, twice for camps and their junior day. I knew a lot about it already, so I had seen everything. The one thing I didn't get to do was sit down with the coaches or meet any of the players. I got to do both on the official visit."

Crabb said the announcement that Colorado is retaining Head Coach Dan Hawkins is a key factor.

"That was huge," Crabb said. "They are my first choice, but with all the talk about Coach Hawkins possibly not being there next year, it really started affecting my decision. When I heard the news that he was staying, that was really good."

Crabb said because of the speculation, he had to keep an eye on other schools.

"I did talk to Washington about possibly coming up for a visit in January. But I have not heard back from them, so I am not sure."

Re: '10 HI OT Kaiwi Crabb

Crabb #39 OG per Rivals:thumbsup:

Thanks. The Rivals guy said he was the best Hawaiian o-lineman at the Aloha Prep Bowl (Micah Hatchie the best athlete/ most upsite).

Scout and ESPN have added evaluations too:

Scout rating: 3*; #66 OT
ESPN rating: 3* - 76 grade; #74 OT
