Has anyone heard of this? I went to DVR the game and i got an error message on channel 623 (not 617) that says this game may not be available.... even though I pay the extra sports fee....

what are the blackout rules? I called Directv and i got a customer service agent who said:

"I am sorry for your inconvenience but that game may be blacked out for the protection of the servicer."

and i say: "what are the blackout rules?"

and he says:

"I am sorry for your inconvenience but that game may be blacked out for the protection of the servicer."

and I YELL: WHAT ARE THE BLACK OUT RULES????????

and he says : "I am sorry for your inconvenience but that game may be blacked out for the protection of the servicer."

I then asked him to read me the next 4 lines on his cheat sheet.... and he laughed....

anyone know of any problem?

I'm pretty sure Plati is behind the blackout.....

i called directv and yelled at them last night as well. the guy finally pushed me over the edge when he said the game wouldn't be televised at all... "what are you talking about? i am sitting here, staring at the guide on the screen. it shows the game on channel 623. it shows it is not available for me. why?" he just kept going back to the "game isn't on tv."

wtf?

assholes. i want to see hawkins' last game.

weird - I actually just went to DirecTV.com and recorded it to my DVR on channel 623....

Maybe he means the game will not be televised in Mumbai, did you tell him you were in the states?

Maybe someone should tell Samantha Steele the game isn't televised. She seems to be prepared for a national broadcast.

That's what they told me when I couldn't get the Colorado State game. They said my package should include the channel, but for some reason I wasn't getting it. Therefore, it was blacked out in my area..

I feel like we are living the same lives but different coasts.... i hooked up with your sister.... have you found mine yet?

Well, that sucks. This will be the game where cu finally kicks someone's ass or hawk spells his doom and I miss it...But I can catch sacred heart vs the north dallas 40....

It's gotta be on tv..... right?

My channel guide was still showing it as of this morning, and DTV did have a logo up on the screen on that channel. Right now it appears to be an active channel with no programming scheduled until tomorrow afternoon....

Methinks it is blacked out everywhere except Colorado and Hawai'i ON DIRECTV.

I know I get it on my comcast channel. It is just better for me on DIRECTV at my office.... i can work and watch alone w/o anyone bothering me.

My channel 617 shows that I'm going to be able to watch upcoming battle of the Catholic church.

However my channel 623 upcoming CU game is in gray making it appear that I don't get the channel and it will not let me record in advance.

Whatever, if it is there tomorrow I will watch, and if not, oh well, supposed to be a nice day. I'm just happy that my kids have commitments until 1pm so I don't have time to drive to Boulder and actually watch the game in person.

How much would someone pay someone else to hook up a slingbox here in Colorado and allow you to access it from afar? I assume you can only access one Slingbox from one computer.

This is the same thing that happened last year for the FCS broadcasts. The program guide showed the game in gray, then an hour or so before game time, the channel became active and showed the game. I presume that is how it will happen again this year... I hope.

I saw on the Hawaii board they were freaking out about the same thing (I googled "Colorado Hawaii Directv" and their thread came up as one of the top choices). I think I have seen this before where the channel becomes active when the game starts.

Yeah, when it's gray, you can't set to record. That would be a bummer. I want to record it and maybe watch it again after I get home from the game.

what about just doing a manual recording option where you set the channel and the begin/end times? I'm pretty sure that has worked for me in the past

I believe we had the same issue for the Wyoming game last year and in the end the game was on TV.. I'm not concerned about it.

My concern is that outside the Colorado & Hawai'i areas it may be blacked out.... I am know for certain that those areas will get the game.

yup! it was the wyoming game. i had the same problem. i still have the TBA thing on the channel at gametime. i cant remember when the channel became "active" last year but, it did. its (wyoming) still on my DVR list.

does not make me feel any better but given last year, i feel about 80% confident that we will get to watch it, no problem. however, from what i read in another thread last week, the KOA games are free this year. so, if the Buffs drop a turd at Folsom, the commentary should be entertaining on the radio.

yeah, she says hello. she can't call you right now because her mouth is full. by the way, what's with all the hemp and tie-dye? it is like i am at some 60s retro party.

If her mouth is full, then when is your turn? She can probably still talk to me on the phone while handling your situation....
