Tweet from a few hours ago:

BobLichtenfels Bob Lichtenfels
McKeesport (Pa.) four-star Branden Jackson will decide on Monday between UNC and Colorado for fifth and final official visit

Bob Lichtenfels is the recruiting guy for Scout out of Pittsburgh. He's been with them for 8 years and is very well connected.

Embree and company doing work!

Visits taken:

Texas Tech on 9/18
Rutgers on 9/25
Iowa on 10/22
Oregon on 11/5

Will it be Colorado or North Carolina in the next couple weeks for his 5th OV?

Interesting note on Jackson: he was primarily focused on basketball until about a year ago. He's a really good hoops player and was close to quitting football after a position change.

Jackson, who added 15 pounds since last year, is considered one of the top defensive end-linebacker prospects in Western Pennsylvania. He's tall and agile.

Was there a time when you thought basketball was your No. 1 sport? That's funny. Really last year, I thought basketball was going to be my sport. I went into football season and didn't think I would be a big part of the offense. Then they told me I would play middle linebacker and I had never played that before. I said, 'Man, I'm going to quit.' I thought I'd work hard to get a scholarship for basketball. But after playing linebacker, I started loving it.

His HS teammate, Delvon Simmons, has taken all 4 visits with him so far. He's a 4-star DT on Rivals, also with a 5th visit available. He's talking with USC right now with a fres offer, but you never know.... You listening Syko?

Yes, I'm listening. Embree stated if kids from the east want to be a buff he'll recruit them. I'd love to get him and his DT friend. I'm just wondering why these dl in texas and cali aren't getting offers besides seau, ka'ai, pete jr. Who knows, maybe lopa, and others will be making suprise visits over the next few weeks. They are working hard no doubt. I have to bitch about it every year, pay no mind.

Hey, AB just wouldn't be the same without the occasional syko rant about DT's. Don't let us down now, brutha.

Sorry Syko, but looks like the DT is deciding on Florida or USC on his last visit. according to Rivals article...

I know, next year is the year we see if tui and mcghee can change the pathetic DL recruiting over the last what, 15 years?

All you Defensive Line fanboys are gonna be fired up...

Branden Jackson is visiting the Buffs on the weekend of the 28th. Rutgers is out of the running and we're his last visit.

:woot:

:smile2: That's great news! But it's DT fanboy to you. Isn't one of his teammates a damn good DT?

His first visit in months as well. Yes please

I know he's not impressed with the ****hole that is Lubbock, Rutgers has no tradition and apparently Phil Knight's facilities weren't enough. Great news Branden! Now you get to take in the Flatirons.

This might be one instance where having the last visit actually is a good thing.

Looks like he is no longer visiting. Anyone know whats going on here? Rivals is still showing us as one of four finalists and it looks like that list has been updated within the last couple of days so hopefully were not out of it.

Pitt came hard. However, since it's so easy to do an unofficial for the local school it seems weird that he cancelled the CU trip for sure in order to do the local OV. He does still list us in his top 4, as you said. I took him off the visitor list earlier today, but I'm not sure it's definitive that he dropped us for next week.

Seems like many of the good players our new staff is after are also being pursued by the new staffs at Michigain, Pitt, and Miami. Makes me wish those schools had never fired there coaches.

no confirmation either way, but seems unlikely he is visiting, unless he's really keeping it quiet.

In an article dated Jan. 21, Rivals says "As it stands right now, Jackson's top four are Oregon, Texas Tech, Colorado, and Pitt."

... and then this: "Jackson has visited Texas Tech, Rutgers, Iowa, and Oregon. He planned to visit Colorado next weekend but cancelled that trip and is considering an official visit to Pitt."

Happy if they commit, visits meh. We have plenty of room for 3 -4 DL now. Parker situation sounds less likely...

Yet you were bitching about the number of DL visits in the post Snow responded to.
