The only problem with all this is that he seems in little rush to make a decision. We cannot afford to be left out in the QB sweepstakes and put all our resources toward Dillon.
True, but of the 4 who else has seemed extremely interested in CU? We can't afford to wait to long either and let them all get away. People around here want Miles, however I haven't read anything that has him leaning towards CU at this point. Its not a good situation to be in.
Bart Houston is going to visit soon (or at least that was the plan). We'll know more after that visit. But honestly, we are not in a good spot right now overall.
I disagree we are in a good situation in regards to QB.
Hirschman showed promised in the spring game, and will only get better
Dorman is going to develop into a starter one day, Sherer will coach him up.
All we need is one guy in this class, and most pro-style QB will choose CU, becaue they get to work with one of the best QB coaches in football. I will take either Dillon or Houston. That will give 3 good QB in the system in 2012, that is a good situation.
In a bad situation because behind TH we don't have anyone with D1 starting experience. So everyone besides TH is an unknown.
True I guess based on what I have heard about spring ball this year I am just not confident in our backups at allThat's the situation pretty much everywhere in college football (or worse).

its good to seeWhat u have heard is not painting a good picture. Why don't you go and watch the spring game on cubuffs.com. Hirschman played really well, his mechanics has improved, he is going to be the starter in 2012 and i am confident with time with Rip Scherer as QB coach, Hirschman is going to be better than Hansen.
When Hischman becomes a senior, and he has about 2 or 3 years of playing experience, he is going to be better than Hansen, bookmark this thread.
I like Hansen, but that isn't really saying much.
Your optimism is awesome! We have a great QB situation because Hirschman looked ok in the spring game and Dorman, who had 0 other offers, is going to be a starter? I love it.

So the reason that we are in bad shape at QB is because nobody on the roster behind TH has D1 experience, but the solution is to bring in a highly regarded high schooler?
not necessarily. I know I said that earlier but as nik pointed out thats the case at almost every school. The problem is that I just havent seen "it" from NH
I never knew Tyler Hansen was the standard for college QBs now. Learn something new every day.
He isn't by any means however I am confident he is the best we have right now.
Big bang is hanging on his hat on NH being better than Tyler Hansen. Love that standard.
I guess I expect much more out of the QBs going forward if we are going to be any good. If I have learned anything from Allbuffs over the last five years, our QBs are really good. Too bad it never translates to the football field.

The QB situation is a major question mark going forward. Hansen is the only guy on the roster I have confidence in, and even then, I don't expect him to be a star. No one seems willing to say it, but the coaches whiffed when they signed Brent Burnette. He is simply taking up a roster spot at this point.
