Wright's recruiting heating up

Still very early in the recruiting process, Wright is just getting to know the schools that have begun courting him as its too early to name any favorites. However, he does have an idea what he is looking for in a college.

"I just want a good all-around school with good academics and to be able to play for a good coach who will respect me and all that."

******************

I haven't seen any film on Wright. I love his size and the fact that he's a top player for one of the best programs in the nation.

He is expected to visit CU for the Spring Game as part of the Tony Jones connection.

Now up to 11 offers, including CU. According to a Scout interview, Notre Dame and Rutgers are standing out for him. But afaik, Wright is still planning on traveling to Boulder for the CU Junior Day & Spring Game events.

One of the initial 5* players from 247 Sports. Let's hope we can make an impression this weekend.

"Colorado is definitely one of my top schools now," Wright said. "I talked a lot with [Colorado defensive coordinator and defensive backs] coach Greg Brown on my visit and he likes coaching corners my size. I am 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. He is good at improving players that have the skills and attributes that I have."

Lot's of great info in there. Sounds like they REALLY liked their visits to Boulder.

No stalker but Wright says on FB, "Colorado visit was crazy man definitely gotta come back out here again."

I like our chances with him best out of the Jersey Boys. Shumate seems intent on going to Rutgers of the SEC

It's a great fit for him. Brown knows how to get guys to the show. If an NFL career is what he wants, Brown's the coach he'll get the most out of.

Huge spread between Yuri's Scout and 247sports ratings.

247 actually has him as the top CB prospect in the nation.

Really hope we can sign this kid.

We should get him as long as we maintain contact with him. If we lose Yuri I'll be dissapointed.

He had a short update with a Rivals national writer that was really good for us. We are in great shape here.

Wow. That was would be awesome. We are in the mix for one the best CB's in the nation. Noice !

Ya it definitely would be nice. Getting Shumate more interested would help us out here as well. The only bad thing is that of course CU is gonna look good being his only out of state visit

I would love to see what Brown can do with a guy as talented as Wright. Considering how much he helped Jimmy and Jaleel Yuri has to see his future in Boulder could look very bright.

Wright could be a multi-year starter and leave as a top pro prospect. Great match for everyone. (except the guys he is shutting down.)

See Deon Figures, Chris Hudson, Ronnie Bradford...

are all 5 going to be a package deal?

Doubtful but Tyrell and Tony are both on the team already so I'm very confident in Yuri being a Buff, Elijah is not as clear yet but sounds like his dad is going to be playing a factor in which school he ends up at.

Package deals are extremely rare. Lots of prospects talk about it, but in the end almost all tend to make personal decisions rather than group decisions. In this case, though, we're talking about guys from different years. That makes a huge difference. It's a major bonus for a prospect when someone he likes from his school goes to a place that's away from home. It's not a primary deciding factor, but it often generates initial interest and in the end may make committing to the place a more comfortable decision. Plus, current players can recruit guys they had a pre-existing relationship with so you get that help too.

TJ and Terror have been here a year now. Yuri and Elijah are 2012 prospects. Jabril is a 2014 guy. This could very well break nicely for us as far as establishing a pipeline.

Who doesn't love Colorado?

Not my point. There's some kind of weird connection between NJ and CO that I can't explain. My roommate was from NJ. We had five guys in my fraternity from New Jersey. There's something about Colorado that is especially attractive to kids from New Jersey. I think it's a combination of Wild-West mysticism and 300+ days of sunshine every year.

Or how some think that Colorado is in the middle of no where but when they arrive they realize it's awesome...if only it had a beach.
