There's some difference of opinion on whether Siragusa is a tackle or guard at the next level. He's listed from 6'4"-6'6" on the different sites. Most have him at tackle, but 247 lists him as a guard. Hoping to get some film to get an idea on his feet and agility so that we can get a better idea of how to project him. I put him in at tackle for now, but my gut's telling me that he'd be likely to move inside since Embree, Bieniemy and Marshall seem to want some beef on the interior of the line.

Also, establishing the pipeline and relationships with Mater Dei is very important to our California recruiting. Glad we're working it.

Mater Dei in Chula Vista is not the same as Mater Dei in Santa Ana. Mater Dei in Santa Ana is the one that has produced Matt Barkley, Brandon Nicholas, Matt Leinart, Colt Brennan, Matt Grootegood, Miles Simon ....

Thanks for pointing that out. I knew that was off when I posted it. Long day, though.

Edit: Just learned that this Mater Dei used to be Marian Catholic. Still a solid program.

fwiw (because I know some people have to be wondering), he's not Tony Siragusa's son or anything.

“I’m going to Fresno State this weekend, and then I’m going to Colorado and San Diego State in December,” said Siragusa. “I’ll leave the last two visits open in case UCLA and Oregon offer me. If not, then I’ll visit somewhere else.”

Siragusa said his top four schools include schools that have offered.

“My top four are Colorado, Fresno State, SMU and Washington State,” said Siragusa.

He's also planning on taking an official to Colorado in the first week of December and then an official to State the week after. And he has commitments from both programs in his ear.

"I talked to Ben (Moa)," Siragusa said. "And I talked to Matt (Morin) a little bit. And he was like 'Come on bro, you just got to come and protect me.'"

Colorado commit Shane Dillon barks the same words.

"Shane Dillon," Siragusa said, "Same thing."

Have to draw a line in the sand somewhere - we've let too many OL slip away already. Need to beat out Wazzu and get this kid

It will be interesting to watch. Would not be surprised if he pulls the trigger on that visit.

OT depth next year.

LOT- Bakthiari(JR), Nembo(RFR), Lewis(So)
ROT- Daniewitz(SR), Harris(JR), Mustoe(RFR)

We are still in on O'connor, Steve Moore, Nick Davidson.

Good luck to the kid.

I'm not writing off Nico yet. But I could see him pulling the trigger on SDSU this weekend, though (along with Jonavaughn Williams).

Let's just hope Harris gets healthy and stays that way. I dont know if I can take another year of a certain RT.

I am not either, but I would feel much better if he had made it this past weekend.

:smile2:  It was real close, but looks like he didn't.

He didn't end up making the commitment this weekend because he still wants to take an official visit to Colorado, which he said got rescheduled from last weekend to "probably" January. But he did move one step closer to becoming an Aztec, saying the official visit was very enjoyable.

Biggins at ESPN reporting it is down to SDSU, NMSU, Fresno and Nevada. Not sure if the new action to Folasa is related to this somehow.

Embo must not be in love with this kid. I'd think that if we REALLY wanted him, we could get him away from that list. Grade issues? I dunno.

Pretty much as Snow says above. We stopped recruiting him a while back.
