Here's Joey's BeRecruited.com profile: http://www.berecruited.com/high-schools/colorado/windsor/football

O'Connor lines up at left tackle for Windsor. He earned all-conference honors as a sophomore. In December, following his junior season, O'Connor was named first-team all-state and became the first offensive lineman ever to be named the Tri-Valley Conference's Offensive Player of the Year.

"Joey is a road grader," [Windsor Coach Chris] Jones said. "It is fun to watch him on film because he finishes plays. He takes a guy and drives them 20 yards down field. His pass protection is really solid. He is just so strong. Once he gets his hands on you, you are not getting off."

CU has shown some early interest and stopped by his school in December. Will be interesting to see if he is invited to CU's Junior Day.

O'Connor is starting to blow up. I didn't think much of it when he got the CSU offer. The Utah offer made me take notice a bit. But now Penn State has offered. How good is this year's crop of in-state OLs? Off the hook.

O'Connor, who plans to camp at Penn State in June, said Colorado State and Utah have also verbally offered. Interest is coming in from Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kansas State and others.

Very strong and physical player:

Pretty doubtful he will be a Buff, partly because we seem more focused on other guys in-state. I would not be surprised to see him pull the trigger to Penn State if his offer is still good when he goes out there in June.

Buffs offered at the Spring Game.

Apparently, we showed well on Saturday and are in the game with O'Connor. Adam has some detail at Rivals and I'd expect an article this week.

Pretty interesting. O'Connor himself had been saying we were not showing much interest for quite a while. Seems we made a good impression this weekend, but he seems focused on going out of state to me.

It looks like he wants to wait til NSD. I don't know if CU will wait that long tho

I know a coach at Windsor and we are not recruiting him very hard. His top three are Penn State, Utah, and Colorado State in that order.

Yeah the staff isn't very high on him for whatever reason, hopefully that means we're in the lead for the top California linemen. Hope he goes to Penn State though, don't want to see him on the other side of the LOS.

Penn State camp is this weekend. O'Connor's coach at Windsor is flying out with him, taking him to a Penn State charity event that a friend of the coach is hosting with the '86 championship team, etc, etc, etc. I'll be shocked if O'Connor isn't a Nittany Lion commit within the next few days.

Did not commit to Penn State while on his visit, but it could be that he wanted to discuss it with his parents first. His coach sounds like he is pushing O'Connor to PSU and is really outspoken about how much he likes them.

I don't see this breaking our way and it's disappointing even though I never saw this as a likely Buff commit. I'm very high on O'Connor and would love to see him in black & gold. Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and he'll end up wanting to stay close to home. Don't hold your breath, though.

Not that we had a chance on this particular prospect.... but I think it's safe to say that Embree's plea to all the in-state prospects at the Spring Game failed pretty miserably
