Roos is tearing it up on the camp scene. He has showed well at Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas. Expect his stock to really take off soon enough. Big kid with good athleticism-he is considered the top shot putter in the state of Texas and won the state championship in his classification. He has thrown over 60' multiple times.

Celina is a small town about 40 miles north of Dallas and is 3A.

Says that he's got a top 2 of Colorado and Purdue. This would be a nice pickup for us. He'd be a mammoth guard who could anchor our OL.

I'm worried about TCU stepping in, though. He camped there, seems to have interest, and the guy who is training him is in the TCU Hall of Fame.

Roos is a guy we definitely want.

Should be able to play both Guard and Tackle, looks more like a Guard. Looks like a very good prospect.

Good looking kid. From Texas, which is a bonus. I think he could play RT, or either guard position. Pretty good athleticism but a little tight handling those wide 9 rushers. He isn't that type of athlete where a guy like Paul Thurston is. I love his run blocking though. That part of his game is ready to go.

We've been in on some great offensive linemen and this is where I've seen our biggest improvement in recruiting IMO. The guys we're recruiting just look like BCS linemen where as before it was questionable.

Sometimes recruiting just baffles me. I really cannot believe Roos only has two BCS offers right now. Here is what Oklahoma's rivals site had to say about his camp performance there:

Roos came in little known and was kind of an afterthought with all the top offensive linemen on hand but after camp everyone kept wondering 'how on Earth doesn't this guy have a dozen offers'. The big man has the physical make-up, and mindset, to play guard but has the feet that could see him work as a right tackle for plenty of teams. Either way if there is a bigger steal on the offensive line in Texas than Roos, we've yet to see him.

He is another Kennedy recruit, so hopefully that helps here. One other thing of note is that his teammate Jake Raulerson looks to be one of the better OT prospects in Texas for the 2013 class.

Is this kid serious with the 435 pound bench press as a high school junior?!?!? :wow:

He looks decently agile for a big kid too, wouldn't be shocked to see him play RT.

Im sorry, but anyone that is 6'6" and 300+ lbs. should be able to run block against anyone shown in that film. The foot-work on Pass-Pro is less than impressive. An OG for sure. Would have to see some more film before I believe he is a must have.

Both schools that I've attended, so I consider myself in a perfect position to offer non-biased advice in this matter.

Young man, be a Buff!

You're welcome,

Nothing relieves disappointing OL recruiting better than bugging BCS.

If Marshall is going to recruit like ****, then the on field product had better be pretty good, that's all I know. EB should be pretty done recruiting wise, maybe we can put him on some late blooming OL.

thanks captain retard... this was more an indictment of oline recruitment TO THIS POINT...
Position coaches don't always solely recruit said position although I would be interested in seeing who Marshall is recruiting.

Edit
These are the kids Marshall is recruiting...
Travis Averill - BSU
Erik Magnuson - Michigan
Stephon McCray - ASU
Nico Siragusa - Undeclared
Paul Thurston - Nebraska
Max Tuerk - USC

We have 23 offers out currently. 13 are committed to a school at the moment. Marshall is recruiting 6 of them so it's not all Marshall although we did swing in miss on a few. As Nik said, Marshall has gotten us commitments from Solis and Crowder.

You're being somewhat ignorant, though. Position coaches recruit a geographic area much more than they recruit for a specific position. Marshall's got NoCal. He landed Solis for us.

Marshall was the key recruiter of Justin Solis, who I'd say is probably our 2nd most important recruit at this point. Not saying he's a recruiting machine, but it's not like he isn't trying. For whatever reason OL recruits just aren't feeling it. What vexes me even more is our inability to lock up TE recruits. I thought we'd be all over that position.

i do understand the geographical nature... but at the same time, even though he isnt the direct recruiter... he should still have some impact on O-line recruiting being the position coach...
