Ft. Lewis

Their coach, Bob Hofman, is a CU grad who played from '70-'74 under Walseth. He's done a good job down there, they consistently win their division and have won their share of RMAC titles. Last year they won 24 games and went to the Div II Sweet 16.

Sounds like a good warm up for us. Get the blood pumpin and shake off the rust a little bit before heading to Puerto Rico.

"Consistently win their division" might be overstating it a bit. In the last 8 years, they have won or shared the division title 5 times, but Mesa has shares of 3 and Adams State and NM Highlands both have shares of two. In the last 3 years, Highlands is the only school with a piece of more than 1 division title. Ft. Lewis was part of a 3 way tie for the division last year, but the two years before that they finished second, to Mesa and Highlands.

Hoffman has done a nice job down there, though.

Would he have been better served to say they won their division a lot ?

Well, they have won a share of the title in more than half the seasons, so I suppose that might be ok. OTOH, they haven't won half of the total shares of the title handed out, so I'm not really sure that you can say they have won a lot. It's a head scratcher, for sure....

Winning their division looks good until you realize that the best schools in their league are all in the other division.

Baseball or basketball?

Either way, the answer would be "casually"....

Oh okay, (Basketball) any hype goin around about Michael Mellilo? One of my good friends, should be making some noise for them this year (Redshirt frosh).

I haven't heard anything yet, but until the season starts I'll admit I pay basically no attention to CMU hoops news. I'll keep my eyes open for him, and try not to hold your friendship against him... :smile2:

Haha alright cool. Go Mavericks

It is always fun to talk to guys from other RMAC schools when the topic of basketball comes up and I can support my roadrunners. A few trips the NCAAs, some final fours, a couple of national championships will do that for you. Of course the Mesa people wouldn't know about that.
