When Serra linebacker Woodson Greer talks about his team's defense, there is no mistaking the pride and satisfaction he has in the hard-hitting unit.
Mention the defensive line and Greer feigns frustration.
"Man, they've been snagging all my tackles," Greer said, breaking into a big smile. "It's crazy. In the Chaminade and Notre Dame games, I had like no tackles.
"They have speed on the outside, strength on the inside. The talent on this line takes pressure off the linebackers and we can make plays."
On an unyielding defense that yields 13.4 points per game, the defensive line usually leaves opposing coaches in awe.
It looked like Greer's numbers were down a bit as a senior (69 tackles according to MaxPreps), but there was an article a couple weeks ago that talked about the dominance of Serra's 2010 defense meaning there weren't a lot of tackles to go around and no one tried to run the ball on them:
