I'm not sure what's going on here. Funderburk committed to S. Alabama on 6/18, but CU stepped up with an offer on 7/16.

Some of those offers would make you think that he's a caliber of recruit that South Alabama doesn't ordinarily get. Maybe something's going on that will allow us to steal one from the south?

From a Rivals article regarding his surprise commitment (he had previously named a top 3 of Alabama, Clemson and Florida State):

"They made me feel good," Funderburk said. "I felt at home."

The most impressive part of South Alabama to Funderburk was the people that are on Jones' staff at the school.

"Their coaching staff," Funderburk said. "They are very good people."
