Football University's Randy Rogers (former recruiting coordinator at UT and Illinois) evaluated Daimler at the FBU Houston camp:

Christian Daimler - Houston Stratford: I thought Christian was the second best OL as an OT prospect. He is 6’7,
with a huge 81 inch wingspan. His outstanding length works against him as a knee bender and that is something
he will have to continue working on. He struggled at times maintaining pad level in the one on one’s, because all
of the defensive linemen were significantly shorter. Christian responded well to coaching when encouraged to
increase his intensity. He needs to work on keeping hands inside to avoid holding calls. Pretty good pad level and
    balance for a tall kid.

Daimler attended CU's Junior Day and really seemed to love it.

Rivals' Adam Munsterteiger had a great interview following the unofficial visit:

"Colorado is awesome, I really enjoyed it," Daimler said. "The people up there are awesome. I get along with [offensive line] coach [Steve] Marshall and the rest of the coaching staff really well. They kind of make you feel like you are at home up there."

I wouldn't be surprised to see this kid as our next commitment. It'd be nice to get some momentum going with the OL recruiting.

I haven't watched the film but for reason I like this guy. He seems athletic which is always a plus on the line. Seems like he can fill in similar to how Solder(just an inch or two shorter) did when he got to campus.

His agility and frame are a big plus. He needs to work on staying lower and increasing strength to be a more effective run blocker.

His film looks like a guy who has all the physical ability, but need to be coached up a bit.

It looked as if the blocking scheme was zone blocking for the HS film. i am no expert, and could easily be wrong, but aren't we trying to run a zone scheme as well?

Rivals, ESPN and 247s each added an initial 3* rating.

And buried on their depth chart. In four years has seen action. In mop up three games.

Don't know that he would help us much.

The land thief fans and local media both seem pretty stoked about their O & D lines for next season. It appears he just wasn't able to garner much time on the field. If CU were to bring him aboard it screams depth piece. Do we need that at this point?

If Miller was healthy, I wouldn't worry about depth pieces at OT. As it stands, I'd feel a hell of a lot more comfortable with a 5th year senior brought into that mix.

Yes, being able to RS Moretti, Polley and the other stud OL we signed would be fantastic, and it gives you some injury insurance from a program who has been running at a much higher level than CU for a long time now. Not sure why it's even a question.

I'm all for rs'ing the incoming frosh olinemen. I'm not sold that bringing in a grad transfer would really impact that.

But I overlooked Miller's health (thanx alot, Nik) when I posed the question. Add in the g/t dance that Irwin did during spring ball and the transfer makes more sense.

For that reason, I'd been lobbying to bring in a JUCO OT this year. Would have been the better approach, imo, because we've got 1 OL in our junior class.
