Thomas had a monster junior season in his first year as a starter with over 3200 yards passing and 36 TDs against 15 INTs. He led his team to a 9-2 record, as they were bounced in the first round of the 5A Division 2 playoffs by a team that eventually reached the state semifinals. He is also a standout baseball player (no idea how that factors into his recruitment).

Quarterback Cody Thomas (Colleyville/Heritage) continues to be one of the most heavily recruited signal callers in the 2013 class. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has picked up junior day invites in recent days from LSU, USC and Kansas State, and is expected to be offered by Virginia this week. Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and FIU have offered previously. The two-sport budding star also has junior day invites from Florida State, Colorado, Texas Tech and Baylor.

As far as 2013 quarterbacks are concerned, Whitewright's Swoopes and Houston St. Pius X's Kohl Stewart — who has committed to A&M — have received most of the early attention, but Colleyville Heritage's Cody Thomas has been a hot commodity in January. This week, Oklahoma State, Florida and Vanderbilt have offered the 6-4, 200-pound Thomas scholarships. Arkansas and Florida International already have, while Florida State, Colorado and Baylor have extended junior day invitations.

Thomas, however, is a two-sport star, and making it to junior days could be difficult because of his baseball schedule.
