With national signing day quickly approaching, Akil Jones is still drawing attention from college recruiters.

The San Jose product has no doubt about where he's playing next year, though.

"I just let them know I'm very solid with Colorado and I'm not planning on changing my mind any time soon," Jones said this week.

A 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker from Valley Christian High School, Jones can't wait to sign his letter of intent on Feb. 3 and make his choice official.

"The coaching staff is amazing and I met some of the players and they have a lot going for them right now," said Jones, who has picked CU over Oregon State, Texas and others.

Wow. This kind of reaffirms a little faith in the younger generation. Make an important decision and stick with it. What a novel concept. Another great future Buff.

Film is good. Size is a concern

Everyone said the same thing about Zach Thomas. More to a football player than just size, and if he has the rest of the package, he can more than make up for being a couple inches short. (No idots, I am not comparing Jones to a HOF NFL LB)

but you are man. outliers should not be viewed as great evidence to ignore measurables. yes, it happens. No, it doesn't mean it's good evidence.

that said, stud. :D

Just trying to point out that measurables aren't everything. Film doesn't lie, this kid is a baller.

It's not a concern. He is a college player, not a pro and there is no end of good examples of 6'0" 225 or 230 lb. linebackers in college.
