'17 CA ATH TraJon Cotton (Verbal to Oregon State)

Just have to tip the cap to OSU. They recruited him better and more consistently than we did. How they sold Corvallis over boulder is puzzling but I won't discount from about dec 20 through a couple days ago having an impact on a future db. We really stepped on our dick there. It's undeniable.

Either way good luck to Cotton. He is a good player. Bummed to let this one get away.

That and him not knowing who his db coach was.

Oh well. The kid always seemed to be a "Me First" type guy versus a team-oriented guy. Obviously, that is off a limited number of Tweets, so probably not fair to say that is the case. If Miller stays committed then Cotton is an after-thought IMO.

Cotton seemed and still seems awesome. Did people forget he wore CU socks to his official visit to Lincoln?! The guy should have confidence, he's a 17 or 18 year old kid with talent that dozens of D1 coaches are after. Good luck to him over in Corvalis.

Cotton played the recruiting game. I'm fine with somebody checking out their options before committing. Much better than Newman's recruitment, committing and cutting bait over and over.

I think Cotton would have been a good to great player, but a fan favorite too. If we keep Miller, then it's not too bad we didn't get him. But if we lose Barnes and Miller, it's harder to take that we lost TC.
