'17 JC DE Shamar Hamilton (Signed to COLORADO)

Nice get. Can't wait to see the spring game and how that new DL fares against CU's offense.

Seems like an ideal redshirt candidate.

Could be. In 2017, we've got McCartney in the senior class (with Shaver), plus we might be considering Moeller in that group. Falo in the junior class (with Hasselbach), plus we might be considering White in that group. Sophomore class is empty. Redshirting Hamilton would fill that gap in the depth chart at OLB.

Works out well for us either way. Obviously, we would all hope that he's someone they can't keep off the field in 2017. But his film points to a guy whose size and athleticism is great but his technique is still pretty raw.

Relatively new to football and has not faced top competition at either the high school or JUCO level. Think it will be an adjustment for him.

He seems to be a guy who can step in for McCartney and set the edge on run plays. Like the idea of getting him experience and more size with a RS.

We need OLBs who can do both. The thing I like most about Hamilton is that I don't think he is one dimensional in his skill set but is still disruptive.
I guess I kind of look at Shamar as aguy with Gilbert's athleticism with the ability to carry more bulk like a McCartney. Guess we just havent had guys that could do both lately.
