I think we have gotten a few OLB's in this class. My theory is that a few of the DE's we've gotten will play in the 2pt stance. It is ILB's that we will not be taking (unless they are big timers, like Rippy)The priority is CBs right now. After that, getting another TE.
Beyond those two areas, OL will be the focus. LB, for whatever reason, does not seem to be a priority for the coaches in this class.

Also KT Tu'umalo. And to be honest, we had to skimp on at least one position in this class. I think ILB is the best spot since it is pretty obvious the coaches do like the young guys they brought in last year.I am sure that is the case. Just seems a little strange when you think about Major and Rippy both moving on after next season. Daigh, Greer, and Webb better be good.
Do we still think there are a few silent commits out there?
Another TE? We have two commited right?

Aren't we still in the hunt for Desean Rippy?
What even happened to Hooker, last I saw he visited us then have heard nothing since.Yes. He's our main LB target. Also, I don't know that we've given up on Reshawn Hooker.
Good lord, another MtnBuff. Oh well. Now get me a beer and burrito, stat.Hey y'all! It's great to have found a site to satisfy my addiction for up to date info and constant opinions on CU's recruiting! I've been following along for the last week getting used to the site, but I figured it is about time I partake.
I went to all but one of the CU home games this year. So it is safe to say that I've been looking forward to seeing some positives this off season (which for this program right now is more of the on-season) We've won some battles and I really like the under the radar commits we just got with Abron and Tupou. After watching film, I'm very excited about Tupou. He shows great get off, separation, vision and a beastly attitude. Listed at 300lbs, but moves like he is 250. Abron looks like a good little change of pace back that could be a real home run hitter and a good compliment to our bigger backs.
I'm confident that we'll get a commit from a bigger name soon (Rippy, Kelley, Cope-Fitz...) which should build momentum and hopefully get us a solid class ranked in the top 30.
Regardless of the final ranking of this incoming class. I'd like to state my satisfaction so far with the type of guys we're getting. Any good program is built successfully from the inside out. We need strong O and D line play to get anywhere. Hawkins developed a team that would be somewhat competitive in the RMAC (I know since I played in it). I watched a team all year that was smaller and slower than nearly all of our competition. Those are huge factors that I looked for Embree and staff to bring in. We need a big SIZE and SPEED injection into this team. And so far it looks like they are aware of the issue and doing their best to solve it. Speed guys look like Abron and Gerald Thomas. As far as size goes, I just looked something up recently... Our starting front 4 on D this year averaged 257 pounds (Hartigan, Cunningham, Pericak and Goldberg), the incoming freshman DLineman already average more height and weight and will only get bigger. IMO, good job!
This has been my first post! More to come soon! But promise to keep the future posts word counts down!

That is cause you were scared of just how nerdy you were gonna be. In retrospect, it makes sense.Dude! I lurked for months. You may not be ready. Have you read the certified mail thread?
At this point, we've made a nutritious burrito with locally sourced black beans, organic brown rice and cage-free grilled chicken. Bring the spice, Embo.

Certified mail thread? No sir.
I think this class so far is solid. We've gotten a QB to develop. We have beefed up our DL. It's the type of class that will produce a lot of starters and contributors for a winning team. Lots of great football character, too, for enforcing the culture that Embree has established.
What I'm not seeing so far are the gamechangers.
Maybe we have them and we'll find that out when they get here and start playing football. But I'm not seeing those guys that jump out at you on their film and scream "PLAYMAKER!".
Going in, I wanted some DBs with lockdown ability, elite speed, and great ball skills. I wanted a TE who changes the other defense's coverage schemes. I wanted a RB who is a threat to take it to the house on any play even against defenses with USC level speed. I wanted at least one sideline to sideline LB. And I wanted a passrusher that immediately changes the other offense's protection schemes (maybe Kisima is that guy).
Give me:
Wes Brown
Taylor McNamara
Deaysean Rippy
Kenneth Crawley and/or Yuri Wright
Morgan Breslin
