2017 CU Players in the NFL (Plus Draft Thread)

Having a guy drafted in NoCal, the Pacific Northwest, and Texas has to be a good thing in terms of the exposure in our recruiting areas. Tupou to the Rams would be a perfect ending.

As expected, the trash Oregon writers are taking joy in the 3 CU DBs that Leavitt and Clark (and solely Leavitt and Clark) got to the NFL.

I give Clark a lot of credit. He coached Spoon and split duties on Awuzie. Was also instrumental in the recruitment of all 3.

I wonder if any teams have looked at Irwin and his brother and thought since they are twins maybe he is worth bringing in and seeing if they can put some weight on him and make him an OL.

That's a practice squad endeavor and would think it's his only chance.

Would need to gain significant weight, which seems to be easier in the NFL (cough cough), so will depend on how much he wants it.

Pericak has been trying to turn into an OL for an entire practice squad career. Not easily done.

It is a tough transition but it also isn't impossible.

Pericak has struggled with it but he had trouble putting on weight past about 280 at CU and if I am not mistaken he also has some extra dietary conditions.

The move from blocking TE to OL has been done a lot more often since a lot of the skills are the same and the TEs have spent a lot of time in the rooms with the OL coaches.

Lepsis did pretty well at it but I think Irwin would more likely be an interior OL, not a T at his height.

No doubt that off-field stuff hurt Tupou and Samson on getting drafted. I expect them to be priority free agents, though. Any team that runs a 3-4 would provide a great chance for them to make the roster.
