Sanchez adds Two for the Fall
The Buffs have added two more players to its incoming class for 2019. UCLA transfer
Hannah Sharts is already on campus and training with the Buffs.
Megan Short will join the rest of the incoming freshman in the fall.
Sharts, a defender/midfielder from Newbury Park, Calif., played in six matches last season at UCLA. She earned four varsity letters at Westlake High School and led her team to three league titles. Sharts was a three-time All-CIF selection and was the Marmonte League MVP in 2016 and 2017.
"We are excited that Hannah has transferred in this semester," Sanchez said. "She is a player that we recruited out of high school and we feel she still has a ton of upside. Hannah is versatile and can play in the back or midfield. She is great in the air, strong in the tackle and is composed on the ball."
Short, a goalkeeper from Mission Viejo, Calif., will come to CU from the So Cal Blues. Short helped backend the Blues to a 2018 national title. She helped the Blues to two undefeated seasons in 2014-15 and 2016-17. She also has two track & field letters from Capistrano Valley High School.
NWSL Tryouts
Former Buffs
Jorian Baucom and
Scout Watson will head to the Pacific Northwest for an opportunity with the Reign FC (formerly Seattle Reign).
Training camp for Reign FC is set for Mar. 4 and they will open the season on April 13. Reign FC did not have any picks in the 2019 NWSL Draft that was held in January.
"We feel that it is a great opportunity for both of Jorian and Scout to earn roster spots," Sanchez added.
