Yep. Ask Sark if he'd like to go back and play Ohio University at home instead of Ohio State University in Columbus to have opened 2025. Switch that and UT is in the playoffs. It's probably too late, but if I'm Lovo, I'm trying to get out of the NW series in favor of another bodybag home game. Two road P4 games in OOC looks dicey and nobody cares about OOC SOS anymore.
This has always been the problem with CFB and why I disagree with the folks who don't like the playoffs and romanticize the "every regular season game used to matter so much more" nostalgia. When you can't afford a loss, you schedule as few teams as possible that are capable of beating you when you play pretty well. That results in fewer interesting games for fans. The playoffs can solve that to an extent. Instead, we're regressing again to wanting 3 body bag games on everyone's schedule. So we lose Notre Dame vs USC. We lose OU vs OSU. CU and Nebraska only play in years when the rest of our non-cons are light despite the fact that fans and broadcasters love these games.
