2026 Transfer & Regular Signing Periods

That is a scary depth chart. Clements had 4 catches last year in Greeley. RB room does not look good with two Sacramento state starters, and o line needs work, especially at left tackle.

I’m on the 3 win bandwagon now.

#Projected Starters 2026

Projections incorporate Brennan Marion’s “Go-Go” up-tempo RPO/run scheme (mobile QB Julian Lewis fits) and Robert Livingston’s multiple defense. Portal additions emphasize experienced, productive players (e.g., FCS/Power 4 starters) to fix 2025 run defense, protection, and secondary woes.

Offense (Projected: 11 personnel with RPO/run emphasis)

• QB: Julian Lewis (Sophomore, returning) – 5-star dual-threat set to start.

• RB: Damian Henderson II (Transfer from Sacramento State, 4-star) – Lead back; rotate with JaQuail Smith (Transfer from Sacramento State, 4-star).

• WR1: DeAndre Moore Jr. (Transfer from Texas, 4-star) – Proven production (77 catches, 988 yards, 11 TDs career).
• WR2: Danny Scudero (Transfer from San Jose State, 4-star) – Elite FCS stats (nation-leading 88 catches, 1,291 yards, 10 TDs in 2025).
• WR3 (Slot): Ernest Campbell (Transfer from Sacramento State, 4-star) – Quick option (37 catches, 755 yards, 8 TDs in 2025).

• TE: Fisher Clements (Transfer from Northern Colorado, 3-star) – 6-7 blocker/receiver.

• LT: Taj White (Transfer from Rutgers, 4-star) or Bo Hughley (Transfer from Georgia) – Replaces Seaton; both experienced (White Big Ten starter; Hughley no sacks allowed in 246 snaps 2025).
• LG: Jose Soto (Transfer from Sacramento State, 4-star IOL) – Run mauler.
• C: Demetrius Hunter (Transfer from Houston) – 24-game starter, veteran anchor (low sacks allowed)
• RG: Andre Roye Jr. (Senior, returning) – Continuity.
• RT: Jayven Richardson (Transfer from Missouri, 4-star OT) – Depth/experience.

Bench Notes: QB: Isaac Wilson (Transfer from Utah, 4-star). WR depth: Kam Perry (Miami OH transfer), freshmen Xavier McDonald (88 rating), Christian Ward (87). OL: Mana Taimani (returning vet) for rotation.

Defense (Projected: 4-2-5 base)

• DT: Santana Hopper (Senior transfer from Tulane, 4-star) – Disruptor.
• DT: Sedrick Smith (Transfer from Maryland) or Ezra Christensen (Transfer from New Mexico State, 4-star) – Size/space-eater (Smith 6-4/320).
• DE/Edge1: Vili Taufatofua (Senior transfer from San Jose State, 4-star) – Power rusher.
• DE/Edge2: Toby Anene (Transfer from North Dakota State, 4-star) – Speed; depth Yamil Talib, Balansama Kamara.
• LB1 (Mike): Liona Lefau (Transfer from Texas, 4-star) – Tackling leader.
• LB2 (Will): Gideon Lampron (Transfer from Bowling Green, 4-star) or Tyler Martinez (New Mexico State transfer).
• CB1: Cree Thomas (Transfer from Notre Dame, 4-star) – Lengthy.
• CB2: Emory Floyd (Transfer from App State) – All-conference starter (59 tackles, 6 PBUs, INT; strong run/tackling grades).
• Nickel: Justin Eaglin (Transfer from James Madison, 4-star) or Maurice Williams (Freshman recruit).
• S1: Boo Carter (Junior transfer from Tennessee, 4-star) – Ball hawk.
• S2: Jaydan Hardy (Transfer from Oklahoma) or Randon Fontenette (Vanderbilt transfer) – Depth with Naeten Mitchell (New Mexico State transfer).

Bench Notes: DL: Dylan Manuel (App State), Tyler Moore. LB: Recruits Carson Crawford (high-upside), Rodney Colton Jr. Secondary: Preston Ashley (90 recruit), Braylon Edwards.

Special Teams
• K: Alejandro Mata (returning) or Joshua McCormick (Grambling transfer).
• P: Damon Greaves (returning).
• Returner: Ernest Campbell or Kam Perry.

Position Group Predictions: Improvements and Declines

• Improvements:

• Offensive Line: Massive reset post-Seaton (Hunter at C, White/Hughley/Richardson at tackles, Soto interior). Targets 4.0+ YPC, fewer sacks.
• Defensive Line/Edge: 10+ adds (Smith, Hopper, Christensen, Taufatofua). Expect 25-35 sacks, better run defense.
• Secondary: Elite influx (Floyd, Hardy, Carter, Thomas, Fontenette). Rebuilds to upper-mid Big 12.

• Declines:

• Wide Receivers: Omarion Miller gone; portal group (Moore, Scudero, Campbell, Perry) high-production but needs P4 gel.
• Offensive Tackle: Seaton loss hurts; transfers mitigate but integration key.
• Linebackers: Solid but youth risks.

Offensive and Defensive Performance Predictions
• Offense: Marion’s run/tempo balance. Projected: 26-30 PPG, 380-420 YPG. Strength: Rushing (150+ YPG). Weakness: Early chemistry.
• Defense: Front/secondary upgrades fix ~35 PPG allowed. Projected: 26-29 PPG allowed, 28+ sacks. Strength: Pressure/turnovers.

Overall Record Prediction for 2026
Portal dominance (35+ adds) + scheme positions bounce-back. Non-con: Wins vs. Weber State, at Northwestern; loss at Georgia Tech. Big 12: 4-5 possible.
• Projected Record: 6-6 to 7-5 (4-5 Big 12). Bowl eligible/upside. Downside: 5-7 if key integrations lag. Sets 2027 contention path.
Yeah, no….those starters are way off, and that’s a terrible record if those are the starters at a ton of the positions you have

I’d venture almost none of the Sac Stare guys we brought over are going to start, and many won’t be 2nd string, and you have them all starting.

if Seaton was a solid Buff until the great last-minute offer, why hasn't he signed with someone, said who it is?

His farewell was probably written by his agent, but his thanking RG before CP just didn't sound right

I don't think that's really a depth chart and I don't think it's entirely accurate.

Jojo Williams, Chauncey Gooden, Yaya, Welch, Trackhawk, and the TE group (Atkins, DeSouza and Laisure) that will actually play weren't even mentioned.

High end position groups that will push to be tops in the Big 12: WR, QB, LB, S/NB

Solid groups that could/should be top half of Big 12: OL

Underwhelming groups that currently sit in the bottom half of Big 12: CB, TE

Unknown groups that have a high variance of possible outcomes: RB, DL, EDGE

The OL could go in the Unknown group as well, but I tend to be optimistic about them as they brought in three guys who have seen a lot of snaps at the P4 level (White, Hunter, Richardson) to pair with a number of high upside guys (Gooden, Yaya, Soto, Hughley) and a few mediocre veterans in Larry Johnson and Andre Roye.

Note: Marion said they are not done on the OL. We'll see who else they are able to add to this group. I think they need another Center at the minimum.

Edit: looks like they got their depth Center

That depth chart post is a joke. At first I thought it's written by GPT or Gemini

Except for very few, this is more of an all-portal starting lineup. The post is informative, but we have returning guys other than Juju that will push for starting time; some players attempting to obtain extra year waivers; freshman; and others that will compete for S/2 deep time. Also, we may still add players and a couple may return from the portal. Starters are one thing, but the two/three deep is really what matters.

I’m on the 3 win bandwagon now.
FNG has no idea what he's talking about. He's about 60% correct.

I'm old enough to remember when Prime got hired and kicked guys like this out of the program, because he was bringing in Louis.
TBF this would indicate that he's changed his approach. Given his results, a change is good.

Has anyone ever won a national championship with a true freshman starting at QB?

With the transfer rules making elite vets available, a blue blood developing a freshman is kinda giving up on a season.

I tend to agree with you. Non-transfer QB's may become the rare exception. Auburn won it with Cam Newton out of JUCO, but he sat two seasons at Florida before getting into trouble.

Trend for QBs with NFL aspirations seems to be it is a beneficial for them to transfer. Teams with transfers seem to be doing well overall, especially in the CFP. Michigan will be interesting to watch. Underwood played pretty well as a True-Frosh (9-4, lost to 2 CFP teams, @USC and Tex in bowl). I want to see how he does next year with Whitt. They won it with McCarthy who they took out of HS.

There needs to be transfer fees associated with the portal that are paid to the school the kid is transferring from just like in European soccer. Tiered fee schedule based on amount of time played and level (FBS, FCS, etc...), etc... Teams sould be compensated for getting raided by rich P4s

Instead of Middle Tennessee...
This just wreaks of desperation - it's clear to me we are going to come-up short again in the portal. We will end-up with holes all over the place (CB, DT, OT, TE, RB, etc.), and less high end talent than last year. Unless Ju Ju seriously balls and/or coaching performance is dramatically better, I see a team that can only win 2-4 games.

That would mean the Prime era is over - I do know Fernando Lovo was given assurances he can make a change in the Head Coach of any program, if they thinks that's the right direction to go.

More and more CU fans are going to look back at the RG era, and see what a catastrophic failure it was.
