KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sophomore Alex Aiello and senior Carla Manzi Tenorio each won a singles matches on Saturday on the second day of the Western Michigan Invitational featuring six other schools participating in the three-day fall event.
The Western Michigan Invitational is the last fall tournament the Buffaloes will be participating in during the 2013 calendar year.
“Today, we came up against some really good competition,” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. “We may not have fared as we would have liked, but the girls continue to fight and played hard, which is good to see in the last fall tournament of the semester.”
Aiello won her 10[SUP]th[/SUP] singles match of the fall, a team high, defeating Katie Brozovich of Bowling Green, 6-0, 6-4. It was also Aiello’s seventh straight win.
