bsn BSN: NOTES: Buffs pre-camp depth chart has some surprises

The Colorado Buffaloes released their “pencil” depth chart for 2017 entering Fall Camp and there are some surprises and some really interesting things hidden in there. Let’s take a look at some of the notes I took upon glancing:

Michael Adkins II is second on the depth chart, tied with sophomore Beau Bisharat. Adkins was essentially the team’s starting running back during his sophomore year in 2014 but injuries have derailed his career. Bisharat was the Buffs highest commit of the 2016 class and made really nice strides as a freshman. Kyle Evans, the team’s backup last year, is hurt but is expected back soon.

Eddy Lopez who has seen playing time as a nose tackle is listed as the fourth string TE. Lopez did not make travel squad last season.

Terran Hasselbach is listed as the starter at OLB. N.J. Falo probably would’ve occupied that spot had he not been kicked off the team.

Juwann Winfree, who I expect to start, is listed at fourth under X receiver. Bryce Bobo, Kabion Ento and true freshman Jaylon Jackson are above him. Jackson, Tyler Lytle, Colby Pursell, Isaiah Lewis and Dante Sparaco are the only true freshman listed.

Lytle is listed as the third QB under Sam Noyer and starter Steven Montez.

Pursell as the second center behind Jonathan Huckins, who will make the move to the center of the line.

3o-year-old freshman kicker James Stefanou is not listed on the depth chart but we can confirm that he is very much still a part of the team.

Keyword = Penciled in... changes head. The freshman being ranked at the bottom makes sense to include those coming in early and getting only a few weeks under their belt. Interesting, but good comment by Lindsay about Dante and Tyler yesterday.
