BOULDER – The University of Colorado women’s soccer team shutout its 10[SUP]th[/SUP] opponent of the season, defeating Arizona State 2-0 on Friday afternoon at Prentup Field.

The Buffs improve to 11-6-1 and 4-4-1 in Pac-12 play. The Sun Devils have dropped three straight and fall to 9-5-4 and 2-4-3 against conference opponents.

“Every win in the Pac-12 this year, there’s no freebies,” said Colorado head coach Danny Sanchez, who earned his 300[SUP]th[/SUP] career victory on Friday. “At home, we need to take care of business and I felt that the early start really helped us.”

Massive win for the Buffs. Really. If they win out they should have no problem getting another at-large bid to the NCAA tourney as they'll have a winning record in conference play and thus end up in the top six.
 
BTW, Brie Hooks is a very, very good soccer player. Watch the highlights of the ASU match. Her timing and pace on the pass to Olivia Pappalardo was exceptional. She has a rare ability to both get teammates involved as well as be a serious scoring threat herself.
