College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Off the top of my head one of the exceptions as far as a lower profile program was Barry Sanders but his numbers were so far superior to the field that the voters had no choice but to award him the Heisman. And while OSU is nowhere near to being a "name" program they had a very good season that year. Andre Ware would be another.
Both of these were not close to recent.

With Sanders his numbers were superior but the biggest thing was that he was the most spectacular RB that people had seen. Even though OSU wasn't a national power Sanders ended up on sports cast and highlights shows almost every week. Whenever they needed something to fill a little time they could usually find his latest run so fairly soon everyone knew about him.

Jake Spavital will be new OC at Cal (He was Cal OC back in 2016). Mike Bloesch from North Texas will be new OL coach.

Doesn't sound too good ... sounds like a stroke

Update -

“The Mike Leach situation is bad.. very bad. I am hearing that his brain went without oxygen for a prolonged amount of time due to a cardiac event. This whole thing has become very dire now.”

Looks like there's a 12-year old kid RB Jeremiah Johnson who's mature for his age and absolutely dominated the Youth National Championship in Florida. Prime needs to offer this boy for recruiting class of 2028 now

NIL is going to create lots of challenges.

good. the sooner we get legislation on this the sooner things will settle down into a playing field that we can at least see. It's the wild west right now.

I don’t see how any federal entity would not see football players as employees. The schools, conferences, and NCAA seem to meet the criteria that they “control the manner and means by which the work is performed“. And with that designation as employees, the athletes will be able to collectively bargain. It will be interesting how that bargaining takes places across different sports and different conferences. The potential impact to non revenue sports may also be huge. You could speculate for pages and pages on where this will all land, for better or worse.
