CU Assistant Coach Hiring Thread

As of yesterday, it does not seem that Mike Zimmer to Dallas is a done deal. USA Today had an interesting take today, to the effect that Zimmer may not be McCarty's guy b/c he would be poised to take over, if the Cowboys HC is on the hot seat. Interesting stuff . . . Sheffter seemed sure but backtracked. I don't think they really know what is happening.

If Zimmer is not hired, I wonder if he does the analyst gig one more year at CU. That could be pie-in-the-sky, but would probably help with the transition. I really like CU's hire of Livingston. He is young, but resume is solid and things are trending to young coaches these days. Does anyone know if Livingston calls the defense from the sideline or the box? If he is sideline, then who will be in the box? Alternatively, if he is in the box, who is on the sideline?

Same with Shurmer, will he be on the sideline or in the box? Maybe Bartalone or Phillips in the box.

Cu made money from Brewster (100k) and Kelly (212k) leaving early. Paying Shurmer 800k, 850k next year.

Livingston 800k this year, but he's gonna make 995 next year. The penalties for leaving within 120 days are interesting. Nice touch RG.

The thing that jumps out is loadholt having a 1 year only contract. 325k

Not liking the Loadholt contract, he seems to be a guy that if the line comes together, that you immediately up him, but Prime has a post 2025 assessment period where he gets to likely name his price.

It’s fine. It allows us to not be tied to someone learning on the job

Agree with you on PL only having a year being weird.....but he felt like a lottery ticket kind of hire.
