CU women's tennis: Surging Buffs eager to face Pac-12 elite-Cal Friday; Stanford Sat.

We had some very good non conference results, let's hope that they can take the momentum into a very difficult conference season.

Cal gets the doubles point with 8-2 and 8-0 wins in #1 and 2 doubles. (Buffs were up 7-3 in doubles #3 when that match was halted due to Cal clinching the doubles point.)

Singles matches starting in ~5 minutes.

Looks like the Buffs are going to have to have a major comeback to get a win. (At least an impressive performance so far by the Buff freshman who's playing #1 singles)-

This could end up being one of the most lopsided results that I've ever seen.

So, after having a (understandably) tough time against #7 ranked Cal yesterday, the Buffs get a break today, and "only" have to play #10 ranked Stanford in Palo Alto. (Wow- tough conference!)

1st matches scheduled to start at 1:00 MT, with live streaming and scoring looking to be available at http://streamingtennis.com/Cardinal/?DB_OEM_ID=30600 come match time.

So, the Buffs have already lost the competition against Stanford, as they're down 6 points to 0 (Buff Teifel is up a set and a break trying to avoid the overall Stanford sweep in Singles #6 in the only active match.)

Looks like a tough task for the Buffs was made even tougher today as it doesn't look like either the Buff's typical #1 or #2 singles players, who also constitute their #1 doubles team, played today. (I have no info on why they didn't play.) Hopefully they're both OK.

Edit- Not that it matters to the Buff overall record, but congrats to Ashley Tiefel for completing her win in #6 singles.
