BOULDER – This Sunday, April 16, the University of Colorado's women's tennis team will wrap up their 2017 home schedule, hosting the No. 42 Oregon Ducks, while honoring CU's sole senior Nuria Ormeño Ruiz on senior day.

Colorado brings a 9-10 (1-7 Pac-12) record into senior day, and the Buffs are looking to snap a five-match losing streak while recording their second conference win at home this season.

The Ducks carry a 11-9 (4-4 Pac-12) record into the weekend and they've lost their last two matches, both at home. Friday (Apr. 14) Oregon will face the Utah Utes on the western side of the Rocky Mountain before making the short trip over the mountains to Boulder to face CU on Sunday.

Sunday will be all about honoring Ruiz (18-13), as she will leave Colorado with her name sprinkled all over Colorado's record books. Entering her final match in Boulder, Ruiz currently sits ninth on the singles total wins' list with 79 all-time wins, she also sits ninth with 17 wins at the No. 1 spot all-time at CU.

She's also impressively, ranked 18th all-time in doubles wins with 57, which when added to her singles wins total gives her 136 combined wins ranking her 12th all-time at CU giving her another top-15 ranking.

Best wishes to the team and, especially, their long-time #1 Nuria Ormeño Ruiz tomorrow on her Senior Day. Hope they finish the home season with a win!

Looks like the team couldn't pull off the upset over the #42 Ducks, but congrats to Ms. Ormeño Ruiz on the convincing comeback win on her senior day!

Edit- just noticed Brian Howell had a nice article on the senior's life and times before and at CU.
