With travel, I missed a couple Olympic Sports events previews, and above is the 1st one, for the Track and Field team's hosted Colorado Open.

Today, looks like only the multi-event athletes were in action, with some good performances already. In addition to some I'm missing, congrats to sophomore Maja Wichhart-Donzo for the win in the Pentathlon, already setting her career best EARLY in the season in points (3,616 vs. 3,513 best as a freshman), and sophomore Isaiah Oliver for being in the lead 1/2 way through the heptathlon, while setting the school heptathlon record in the 60 meter dash. (Per the article, his 6.99 time also moved him to 4th all-time at CU overall in the 60M.)

Congrats to Buffs Andrew Ghizzone and Isaiah Oliver for going 1-2 in the indoor heptathlon, highlighted by Mr. Ghizzone setting the Buff heptathlon record in the pole vault, while Mr. Oliver sets his 2nd pentathlon Buff all-time best in 2 days, this time in the 60M hurdles!

The rest of the meet has now started. (Looking at the live results (field events only so far), doesn't look like many Buffs have competed so far. Wonder if many on the team aren't competing here pending the Buffs leaving Colorado/ Wyoming for the 1st time next weekend to face tougher competition in Seattle and Arkansas. Looks like the most notable result so far is freshman Giancarlo Narvarte, who earned 2nd in the high jump with a 6'7" (2.01M) leap.)

Looks like the Buff distance runners are waking up from their competitive "hibernation" after the cross country season. Congrats to Ben Saarel and Dani Jones on their wins in the mile!

Slightly updated article linked to below that updates today's results to include field events and mile results.

Buffs actually get 1st-3rd in both men's and women's miles. Hopefully they can all go forward from these very good times at Boulder to some GREAT ones at sea level in Seattle next week.

Really cool that we can host a meet like this. This facility is first class.
